Working on yet another Finn fic involving her life before Vegas and how losing her father at a young age, well, young-ish, (28) affected her but I’ve been fixated on this exchange- between the age of twenty six-twenty eight year old, she would visit her ill father as he battles cancer and every time she comes to see him, no matter how sick he feels that day, he greets her with the same "There's my favorite daughter" to which she corrects him "I'm your only daughter" feeling mild embarrassment then affection when he replies "but still my favorite."

The way this screams little Jules with her father in my OC world is just perfect. The 90’s film style, the innocence of a child seeing medical things so young, searching for reassurance from adults around her, her father trying to teach her without scaring her, Mark Greene trying to protect Rachel from seeing things like this so young. Ugh my brain is all over the place.
Yes this definitely has little Jules vibes. (Apologies for the grainy 1994 film style and YouTube quality blur)
Did I find a muse for Julie Finlay as a child and her doctor father, my OC Patrick Finlay, via an old episode still from Season 1 of ER, episode titled “Chicago Heat” featuring Mark Greene and his daughter Rachel? Yes. I did.
