location: euphemia’s quarters featuring: @gaelicstatues
the day itself had been trying. though euphemia was gratified -- and felt more than simply a little bit secure -- at the titles that had been bestowed upon her, nothing would replace the loss of her only child. she had accepted congratulations from many here in castelgrande, but the new marchioness of huntly simply wished to spent an evening in her bed with the man she loved more than life itself. she had already removed her overdress and had a robe wrapped around her shift when she heard the door open. her hair was loose and euphemia ran her fingers through the tresses as her eyes flicked up to see the heir to scotland’s throne.
her lips curved into a smile that was just for patrick and euphemia rose from the chair she was seated in to greet him, lips lingering at the corner of his mouth as her hands moved over his sides. “good evening, my love,” she spoke in their own language, her eyes focused on patrick’s own. “it has been quite the day.” she exhaled slowly, ever so curious as to his reaction to the news of the day.
