(Friday) Seven Lions is coming to Omnia SD, and although I'm not going to see him, I wanted to showcase his new release anyways.
"Higher Love," a collaboration track between Seven Lions and Jason Ross can also be labeled to as a collaboration between melodic dubstep and progressive trance. The bulk of the track is trance, and follows the Anjuna sounding prog trance. The beginning synth plucks sound almost exactly like ones used in Above & Beyond's "All Over The World" - it could have been an Anjuna package that they used. The first drop is trance, and the second is melodic dubstep; it's an interesting fusion of the genres but the second works well since it's not too harsh to listen to.
@mutemath has been one of my favorite bands since their first release. Their music is a blend of rock, electronic, pop and alternative. The lead singer, @paulmeany is a vocal force to be reckoned with, only matched by his incredible keys, songwriting and dance antics on stage. Dk the drummer may be the next best thing to Bonham, in my humble opinion… And yet, the music of @mutemath still gets overlooked by many mainstream radio stations and music outlets. If you are lucky enough to see them live, you will be blown away, that I promise! Listen, like them, follow and buy their albums. You won’t be disappointed! 👍🎸🎹
