Phase 3 - Pavilion Narrative
Pavilion - Narrative
Short animation show how pavilions and layers had been formed under some extreme condition, place where people have to choose to sacrifice their privacy for their desire; economic purposed and also for so-called public security.
Pavilion Narrative
The narrative shows what is going to include in the pavilion, what is extracted and the main things to design the pavilion.
PHASE 3 : Pavilion Narrative
For the site, I want to working on local community which have different age group sharing the sane space, so I choose Nang Loeng Market. I continue expiramenting on multigeneration activities in private and public space. For the second survey, I choose to focusing on specific activities that can be program or workshop in the pavilion.
Pavilion Narrative
The main concept of my case study, the ice house, is temporality, nature and life cycle. In phase 2, I agree with the icehouse ideas of temporality and what I’m proposing is a device that uses shadow to temporary create or define space by using daily solar cycle.
The purpose of this pavilion id being a part of market which provide shading in daytime and floor in the night.
The different spatial experience is created from Thermobimetal. From the material property which the heat from the weather (Its required temperature is 10-degree celsius different between day and night see the transformation) and sunlight can transform the metal to stretch and shrink. Since it’s a thermobimetal it curls.
The overall structure mad in a module system which each module is made by thermobimetal. The thermobimetal act as a joint and the skin of the module. In the morning the pavilion starts a flat surface on the ground, then the more it’s heated, the more it’s curl during the day. Midday the pavilion will be fully transformed and it will slowly flatten back when it’s cool down.
The pavilion will appear and disappear by the daily cycle
