When Adrian moves to stretch, some of their skin peels away from where it has stuck together through a combination of drying sweat and saliva and blood. If you would like to understand the references I make in an attempt to have some character development and/or plot in this, you should not only have seen Castlevania: Nocturne, but also have read @ifishouldvanish's exceptional Until the Sun Rises Again. Because historical footnotes are sexy AF.

Never has he desired such carnal knowledge. Just as it had never occurred to him to even try to turn Trevor or Sypha or Greta, the idea of biting a lover hard enough to draw blood has always been anathema. Something to avoid at all costs. The hand he has at the back of Olrox's head slides forward to cup his jaw, to tilt the proud angle of his chin so their eyes can better meet. That seems to surprise the vampire and his lips part on a gasp.
