Yippee! #topoc23 bonus round!! Bethica brought various outfits based on the different colours the sky can have (and she plans on switching between them all throughout the party!)

Maggie wears a dress inspired by mourning doves!

Bethica is probably going around talking to people and wandering back to Maggie every now and then to keep her company in her quiet little side of the room.

Something strange happens near the end of it though...

We had to choose a tabletop game and a game piece for our characters to be!

I chose the magical girl ttrpg Glitter Hearts! Maggie is a d6 (i took a bit of creative liberty™ here and picked out any dice I wanted, it's Rainbow Granite Speckled), and Bethica is the character sheet. In Glitter Hearts, most if not all actions are determined by a 2d6 roll. I thought it would be fitting that Maggie would be one of those dice. If her sister were still here... well, she'd be the other die. I specifically chose this dice design because it felt like it conveyed the "emotional but now reserved due to tragedies" energy that Maggie has, but also the feeling of being able to heal and come back from it, because theres still some colour left underneath. I think her being a die also fits because of how sometimes a bad roll can screw you over, and it seems Maggie has been getting these bad rolls a lot in life lately. For Bethica, the character sheet itself made sense. She likes to take charge of her own life, to write her own story. Her reasoning is a lot more straightfoward I think lol I chose Glitter Hearts for these two because I just thought the fun silly concept of a magical girl game with a surprising amount of room for lots of terrors and tragedies™ fits their worlds a bunch. Though, Bethica leans more on the bright colourful side while Maggie leans more on the terrors and tragedies side. Maggie even witnessed a giant kaiju fight (pictured faintly in the background) so even more fitting for her 🎉

Bethica was absolutely thrilled to design Maggie an outfit to disguise her - something super edgy yet kinda cozy (because he didn't want her to be too uncomfortable. Trust me, they already tried putting her in an elaborate jet black outfit with white sequins and Maggie was NOT handling it well...for very specific and complicated reasons)! They even pulled out the makeup kits and eye contacts! Maggie's style is usually gentle and casual, so it made sense. Also, she's never worn a hoodie before?! (Must be because she's from the 1920's) And theeeen Bethica realized that. Oh no. He has to wear something DULL AND CASUAL. I mean, casual on it's own is perfectly fine. But DULL? NOT EVEN A SINGLE SPEC OF PERSONAL FLAIR? Outrageous. But alas... It's for the good of the competition! Being eliminated doesn't mean that they're exempt from paparazzi attention! As for their escape plan? Let's just say Bethica's got some friends who can help... And by that I mean they know a shapeshifter friend who could turn into like, a bear or something to scare off photographers. (Even if Bethica would've been happy about all the attention lol) Or perhaps Keybo could help too! After all, they're a streamer AND a previous Top OC contestant, so they could distract or even lead the photographers away from the others.

For Round 1 of Top OC, we had to make a cover for a song using two words from a word pool! I used Lost and Sweet to make the title Lost In The Sweetness :]

As Team Jazz Pizzazz, obviously they're going to make something jazzy - right up Maggie's alley!

With Bethica on the piano, Maggie on her trusty cello, and both on vocals, there was nothing that could stop these two from making the perfect song!... That is, until they realized they couldn't get it to sound how they wanted.

Bethica wasn't exactly an expert at piano, and Maggie was nervous without the help of her closest musician buddy back at home.

Eventually they took a break. During this break however, they started jokingly improvising a song together about the snacks they were having, not worrying at all about the quality, and just had a lot of fun! It wasn't until after they were done that the two found out the recording was still going! And watching it back, they realized how good it was -- and thus Lost In The Sweetness was made!
