First day as a qualified teacher, teaching back to back lessons and man am I exhausted! My classroom echoes so I end up having to raise my voice quite a bit. Any suggestions to help combat this would be much appreciated!
On the health side. Again, I’ve been so busy today I haven’t actually had time to eat anything that’s bad for me! I had a panini at lunch which won’t have been amazingly healthy, but on the plus side went over my step goal today which makes up for the lack of doing so yesterday. And because I was feeling stressed out and exhausted, when I went to buy school supplies I fell in to old habits and bought some chocolate, but I didn’t end up eating it! I did, however, end up buying an iced macchiato (not Starbucks, a cheaper one) because I seriously needed the caffeine hit before mosque. Sadly it’s got to about 4 hours after drinking it, and I think now is when it’s kicking in. Better late than never, seeing as I have a tonne of work to do!
So yeah, the only thing that’s been unhealthy in terms of sugar content is the iced macchiato, but that kinda needed to be done. Mosque is only two days a week this year (which is both good and bad, I think) but that means more time for the school work (which, again, is both good and bad). It also means that there’s an extra two and a bit hours in the week where I’m not as busy as I should be, so hopefully no binge or junk eating during that time.
Sorry for the rambles! It’s been a long day and needed to get it out somewhere. Don’t really like talking to the other staff members about my health mission, and then don’t fancy talking to my parents about work either. Feel like work should stay at work! I know in terms of workload, especially during an NQT year, that’s pretty much not possible but I’m trying to minimise what I bring home in order to maintain that work-life balance as best as I can.
Rambling over. Have a lovely night/evening/afternoon/morning depending on where in the world you are and what time you’re reading this
xx
