( 🐕 ) THE GENERAL HUMS as he walks along side her , gaze looking down at her as he listened to what she said : personally those two things did not match but he didn't speak a word of it. he merely smiled as he playfully nudged her arm with his elbow. ❛  WE SHOULD DO something fun then , no ?  ❜

he has no quip nor denial for that, because he was. it was somewhat rare for him to play genius invokation with others besides his three friends, but he quite enjoyed playing against kokomi and seeing her strategies. it was always enlightening to see other people's decks and how they played, and even more so when the opponent was a gifted strategist who was well versed in mental games. al-haitham doesn't hide his small smile, favoring instead to roll his dice.

The trip back to Inazuma hadn't felt as long as the boat ride out to Liyue had felt, but maybe that's because the entire crew and faction, Gorou included, were more than ready to get back to their home on Watatsumi and sleep in their own beds again. For as much as Gorou enjoyed getting to go see other nations and explore, Watatsumi was still his home that he looked forward to being back on at the end of the day.

He'd fill Kokomi in on everything in more detail in the morning after he'd gotten a proper nights rest and she had too, he was sure things had been busy as usual for the Priestess with some of the troops away on the reconnaissence trip. But he'd still wanted to come see her personally and let her know that he and the others had arrived home safely so she could sleep well knowing that. Despite them getting more experience out on the seas with the war over, nothing should be taken for granted when it came sailing out on open water and Gorou knew that.

But regardless of all that, hugging her hello and having those few brief moments with his close friend put Gorou at ease himself seeing the smile and hearing the soft voice he'd grown so fond of over the years. He'd been about to bid her farewell for the night when Kokomi seemed to sense his intention to do so and leaned back in to press her lips to his cheek in a motion that surprised the General to say the least. Cue Gorou freezing for that moment with his hand still on her waist, not having time to fully pull away from that final goodnight hug before it happened.

Clearing his throat, Gorou thanked no one in particular that the darkness of the evening helped conceal any warmth on his face. At first he didn't know what to say in response, but after a second or two it did come to him. "I missed you too Kokomi."

( 🐕 ) HIS TAIL WAGS as his priestess wishes him a happy birthday and gifts him lovely kisses. it was a dream come true , really : who would have thought that he would be blessed with living through a war and falling in love to be able to share this day. the general , content as ever , comes to lean his head upon kokomi's shoulder. ❛   THANK YOU , PRIESTESS . .  ❜

( 🐕 ) HE HEARD HER coming before she flung herself at him ; able to catch her easily thanks to that. her general laughs , unable to not due to the assault of kisses that she planted all over his face. his grip around her grew tighter as he disallowed her from moving away from him in a teasing manner , stealing a few kisses himself with a toothy grin.

❛   WAS WONDERING where you got off too, priestess ~ . . what's the occasion that you decided to sneak up and gift me all those kisses ?  ❜ neither of them NEEDED ONE but it didn't hurt to ask.

there's always a downside ━ accepting ( @pearlcure )

caelus says nothing at first, ichor hued eyes downcast for a moment. there seemed to be something just out of reach for everyone, just like him and his past. he wondered what was just out of kokomi's reach, but that wasn't his business. still, he couldn't find himself falling into despair that easily, at least not without trying over and over again. ( but how many times would he try before finally losing his spirit ? ). he looks up at the pastel haired woman then, gaze curious.

      it would be lying if the knave turned and said that it wasn't a surprise to see such a thing . however , extremely amusing --- enough so that her head tilts slightly to the side , and a small smirk can be now seen forming . not only that , but she even offers the other a wink ( not only was this amusing , but considering who it was from , perhaps even useful ) .
