How to move to Prince Edward Island (PEI) as a Permanent Resident
Prince Edward Island is often known as “the birthplace of Canada” is an island province that has a burgeoning economy that is based on agriculture, fishing, and tourism.
For immigrants who want to move to the island province of Prince Edward Island, they can apply for permanent resident status to live and work in the province through the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP).
PEI PNP allows the province of Prince Edward Island to select and nominate experienced immigrants with required skillsets for provincial nomination thus allowing them to apply for a permanent resident visa to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
There are three major immigration categories under PEI PNP:
This “enhanced stream” allows the candidates who have applied for Canada PR visas through express entry programs, allow them to apply for the provincial nomination. Eligible applicants under this stream can get their application processed under 6 to months. Not all the applicants are guaranteed to get the provincial nomination certificate, but only those applicants whose skills are in-demand in the local labour market will be considered for the nomination.
If an express entry candidate gets a provincial nomination certificate, they are awarded major 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points.

Through this stream, Province is able to select and nominate immigrants who possess skills and work experience that is required by the local labour market of the province. There are three streams under this category:
Skilled Worker Stream - This stream is for the immigrants who have been selected or are have been identified by the employers of the province. To apply under this stream, the candidate is required to have a job offer from an employer or must be currently residing in the province.
Critical Worker Stream - This stream is for the immigrants who have been hired by the PEI employers and whose employers have sponsored them for the permanent resident.
International Graduate Stream - This stream is for recent graduates from the accredited Prince Edward Island (PEI) universities and colleges who have been already been hired by the employers.

Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP)
The other immigration pathway to the province island of Prince Edward Island (PEI) is the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP). Introduced in 2017, AIPP is a Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) that is an employer-driven immigration program that allows the designated employers of the Atlantic region to select potential immigrants who will be able to fill the job vacancies in the area.
