Ancient Mythos/Lore, a magi children's story
This is a pre-post for the Qurai/Kaz info post I will be doing. This is purely for lore sake and does not necessarily need to be implemented in game plotline. Please also note the story is told under the writing of a human's point of view, and thus left out the warding out of the remaining ancients, and the human segregation of the Kaz and Qur.
--------------------------------------------
"At one time of existence, in a plane of reality distant, but not far, from our own, a dying ancient race of deities lived. A once flourishing community, these deities had given in to an all but natural decay of their being and soul, falling apart to become the life of smaller, yet many, new lives, eventually becoming but empty shells. These shells would eventually reanimate and become hostile to any living near, and thus the few surviving members of this race fled for their lives as their own world became as much of a husk as their old friends.
The deities, led by a newly appointed lord(Paertha'anl), were left with no choice but to breed amongst each other and wait as their souls split into planes beyond their reach, to create new life.
On one end, a group of deities allowed their souls become fragmented, and embraced their end as a new beginning. They would soon birth the lives of new, beautiful, creatures, which we call the Naqoraiit(nah-koh-RAI-et). The Naqoraiit were tall and slender, with long flowing hair draping from their scalps. Although small compared to their forefathers, their bodies emanated powerful magical energies, and were brimming with life. They displayed a unique ability to manipulate the energies around them, and thus gave birth to the very first Magicks.
On the other hand, the leader of the deities did not want to sacrifice himself in such a way. He and a few of his followers decided to take another course of action through experimentation. The deities' leader, after multiple failed attempts on his own followers, eventually was forced to use himself as a subject. The deity king would attempt to keep his life by skipping the process, and fragmenting his own soul manually, creating his five "children", and leaving behind his empty husk, still barely conscious. His first three children, Kalfrath, Thaas, and Mythra would take after their Naqoraiit cousins. However, the other two would be a different story.
Through the experimentation, the deities' lord had create multiple, living, shells. Empty of soul yet still conscious and alive. What he did not know, was somewhere inside they still had a tiny bit of their original soul within them. At the very moment he split himself, and his children were born, all of the experimental husks dissipated themselves, and left behind their own descendants. These, unlike the Naqoraiit, displayed more animalistic features. While they kept the same body style and shape, their hairs were black like the void, and many bore fangs, sharp claws, slightly more toned bodys than their cousins, and other varying traits. By soul, they were very much related to the Naqoraiit, however their appearance had set them apart, and were named seperately as the Voukaztorre(voh-kas-TOR), translated to outcast. The last two of the deity lord's children, Zalthras and Pakaar, would take after these.
After eternities of escaping the darkness chasing them, the descendants of the ancient deities made their way into new planes, making home. However, the splitting between the Voukaztorre and the Naqoraiit would cause many political issues. The Naqoraiit found theirselves superior to their non-magic brethren, who relied on their physical capabilities to survive. However, conflict would arise as the Voukaztorre learned a powerful secret within their selves.
The Voukaztorre would learn they had the unique ability to bend empty, void-like, spaces, and use these to connect two sources of energy together, forcing the energy to fill these spaces in various behaviors. This ability, while hard to control, proved to be especially effective in comparison to the Naqoraiit's raw ability to manipulate energy.
Jealous, the Naqoraiit would try to ban the Voukaztorre from using their ability, calling it "dangerous" and "barbaric". The Voukaztorre, on the other hand, believed the entire race could benefit from learning more about the Magicks through their newfound ability, and refused to comply.
This would spark a war between the two ancient races in their newfound, beautiful, homeland. After decades of warring, the ancient races had already begun the decaying process of their souls, creating many new life forms among their homeland, and created a truce of peace to conserve the beauty of the plane. The Naqoraiit and Voukaztorre would return to a plane before this beautiful land and leave it to start a new, peaceful life, leaving the land to the Qurai, descendents of the Naqouraiit, the Kaz who descended from the Voukaztorre, and the various other human and humanlike species born from their relations.
And as the Kaz and Qurai had sheltered theirselves off from the beautiful world which they were left in, the world would be watched over mainly by the human race, who would prosper in dominance to this day."
