Local film that acknowledges Krotoa (Eva) as one of the indigenous females who had an impact on South African history, wins an 8th international award before it's release. A young girl is removed from her Khoi tribe to serve Jan van Riebeeck. She then grows up to be a visionary woman who grasps and takes up the Dutch language and culture, that she becomes an influential interpreter for van Riebeeck. She later ends up being rejected by her own Khoi people and destroyed by the Dutch when she tries to find the middle way between the two cultures.
