Ghoulia redesign <3

I tried drawing her in the ZZZ art style,which turned out pretty good imo

Her new design doesn't look THAT MUCH different from her previous one, I mainly added more details to her so that she actually looks like a playable character.

Here's her previous designs from mid/late 2025 compared to now, oml she's evolving...

Also here's the rough concept art (and also the line art I did cuz I'm proud of it) I did when coming up with her redesign, her design is supposed to be both Scene and Gurokawaii inspired. I also wanted to include more zombie elements in her design since in the previous one you couldn't really tell that she was a zombie by looking at her outfit only.

I changed her eyes and belt for her finalized design.

Ill make a re-introduction post about her in the future when I'm not so busy and uhh...artblocked

Grim redesign <3

(Includes updated lore at the end for those who wanna know the lore)

I'm trying to do it in the HSR artstyle - it is NOT for the weak 🤧

Updated lore:

(Small warning for slight spoilers for the 4.3 quest,also pls excuse any mistakes I make abt the HSR lore- I'm not a lore skipper BUT I'm not THAT fluent in the lore so 🤧)

-Grim was created as vessel to hold the remains of the Voracity, which was injected into them through an inky substance that now eats away at their body and memories (bcz of the Voracities ever consuming nature)

-The scientists that had created them were soon consumed by said inky substance, leaving Grim completely alone to wander for years before being found and raised by a woman that taught them how to control the ink and also how to communicate with the dead (and spirits in general).Grim grew extremely found of this women, as she was their only family.

-How the ink works (might change this ltr on but this is just a rough idea of how it works): It's a substance that eats away at the physical body and memories and can end up corrupting the mind and soul too.Its basically trying to eat away at a persons soul, but since the body is the vessel for it- it eats away at that first.It can manipulate the soul similar to Idle Transfiguration in JJK, where it mutates the shape of the soul, therefore changing the bodies shape to conform to it.

-Grim had always seen the ink consuming them as an ominous presence consuming their body and memories,they were afraid of it eventually corrupting their mind and leaving them as just an abomination of the Voracity, but they've been able to prevent that by learning how to manipulate it. One of the ways they learnt to manipulate it for good, was by using it for painting - which was an activity they grew found of because of their caretaker (who also loved painting).

-While traveling with their caretaker, they ended up meeting Ashveil - who later on became more of a mentor figure and friend of Grim, he's also the one who had inspired Grim to become a Galaxy Ranger themself.Grim also met Yingxing along their travels, and grew quite found of him to the point where they considered eachother dearest friends.Yingxing even ended up gifting Grim a specialized paintbrush because of their fondness for painting.Grim had also visited Yingxing in the Shackling Prison similar to that cutscene with Ashveil and Yingxing in the 4.3 quest.

-Soon after,Grims mind had suddenly been corrupted by ink while they were with the other Galaxy Rangers alongside their caretaker on a strange planet (likely because the ink becomes hungrier when near the remains of Oroboros) and Grim ends up not only losing control of themselves but also ended up consuming their caretaker and others.They were traumatized by this event once they gained their senses back, and had isolated themself away from others out of shame for what they did (said isolation lasted thousands of years, untill the present day story.)They retired as a Galaxy Ranger out of shame for what they'd done- even though it was completely our of their control.

-Around this time, Grim grew fixated on Death because it was a presence constantly surrounding their life,so like a strange coping mechanism, they grew obsessed with it to the point of naming themself Grim (as in the Grim Reaper).They began embracing Death (and their now infamous reputation) completely and only surrounded themself with the dead and spirits instead of people,because they grew self-conscious of the presence of people.

-They're known now for their mocarbe paintings depicting the 9 stages of Decay that depict the stages that the human body goes through when decomposing.Grim now is more like the "Slender Man" of the HSR verse cuz their reputation is kinda like a spooky urban legend rather than the tragic fall of a hero.

HOLY YAPPP but uhh yeah that's the updated design and lore for Grim, I might change some things around ltr on but uhhhh this is what I'm satisfied with right now.I wanna start including lore for my ocs in my posts more so that you guys can get to known them more.

If they were to appear in the story then they'd appear in Planarcadia because of all the Oroboros stuff, and they'd reunite with Blade and Ashveil there.
