PENTHUS

In Greek mythology, Penthus was the personification of grief. When Zeus began passing out domains to the various gods, Penthus was not there. As such, Penthus received the one domain no one wanted: grief and sadness. He favors those who weep for the dead.

My boys.

Gouache with details in pen and marker. I've been sitting on this particular lineart for something like five years. When I did the original, I wanted to do a sort of study with different mediums. I did one digitally (though I never got further than flats), and I did one in colored pencils (my preferred media), and I'd always intended on doing one in watercolor but never got around to it. Well, today was the day.

This was one of my first times mixing paints. I also used water brushes (you can fill the barrel with water and it comes out through the bristles while you paint).

I plan on framing this one. :3
