Oblivious
A young girl sits quietly in the corner, while tears of heartache fall gently from her eyes. Many people walk by, oblivious to her pain. She looks up from the ground, locking eyes with me. I stare back at her, and as I do, she stands slowly. She begins walking towards me, her strides short and scared. As the distance between us comes to a close, reality dawns on me: I was looking in a mirror.
