Moving to Dreamwidth and Pillowfort

Because of recent tumblr shenanigans, I'm moving my blog for Per Sebek off here and over to Dreamwidth and Pillowfort. You can find and follow them there. I'll also be posting updates to bluesky, posting the links to the entries. Everything will be posted publicly, so you shouldn't need an account to read them. I hope to see some of you over there!

I'll be crossposting all my old posts from here to there for the time being, but once that's done, I'll be posting some new content. I have a post planned talking about Sobek expressed through each of the seven classical planets that I want to write, amongst other things. So keep an eye out for that.

Welcome to the House of Sobek

So for a number of reasons, I'm rejigging this blog from one mostly for posting devotional poetry into one that's more of a sideblog for my website, persebek.org. There are reasons why I shifted from a wordpress site to a neocities site, but it felt like the right thing to do. But instead of having a blog on there, I thought I'd just reuse this one, and keep this for posting updates about the site itself, as well as more meandering blog entries and thoughts that don't really fit on the website itself.

If you're looking for the website itself, persebek.org is the link. I'm aiming to focus on putting new works up on there, but there's also some older content that I'm putting up because I want it on my current site where it's easy to find.

You can also find the old wordpress site archived at persebek.wordpress.com, and there's a decade's worth of posts, hymns, rites, and other things in there.

Daily Draw - 2/5/23 - Sacred Rebels Oracle (Alana Fairchild)

45 - Pandora's Gift

This card makes me think of hope, bc that's what was left in the box after Pandora had managed to close the box iirc. It feels that way to me anyway. More butterfly wings signifying transformation, as well as the look on her face that suggests something good. Finally finding that true final form that you've been striving for, perhaps. I love the swirls of what I think is meant to represent language coming from the mask and twirling in with her hair. This is a very pretty card.

"You are being put on divine notice from the sacred feminine that there is a talent and ability within you that needs to be acknowledged. There is a worthy seed of something beautiful and necessary inside you."

I mean, damn. Just last night I was pondering what I can offer in service to Sobek to the wider community, bc everyone has their Thing, right? What's mine? I'm still not sure. There's things I can do, and have done, but what lies in the future? I have no idea.

In many ways, I feel like I'm not quite ready to answer this question yet. Like, I know there's *something* but what? More pondering is necessary, I think. bc I have a tendency to think about this stuff as like, art and sacred things, and not like, other things, or acts of service, or anything else more intangible than anything else.

Then again, this oracle is talking about sacred wisdom as well, that sacred knowledge is what Pandora brings. And maybe that's a poke towards Per Sebek again and actually getting that place started up again. Maybe knowledge is what I bring.

41 - Bring It Into Form

I told you I keep pulling this card lmao. This must be, what, the fourth or fifth time since I got this deck? Something like that. I get it, I get it, you want me to Do The Thing, and not just keep procrastinating on it.

frfr tho, it's been a Day. I got my period this morning, so no shrine rite this evening, though I did light up the altar and offer incense bc that's how habits form dammit. Also I need to prove to myself this sytem works on days when I don't have the energy, and can't do shrine rites, so. And I am feeling very good about that so far.

tbf there are def things I am waiting on, or not doing just yet, or procrastinating on. I def have creative works to finish for sure. And clearly the universe is nagging me to get on with it lol. Impatient, aren't we? XD

Anyway. I do have one idea though, that I think I will do tomorrow. I have been undecided for a long time about what to do about Per Sebek and what content I want to put on there. And I think I will change up the navigation a little, and add in a page for rites. I want to edit my shortform rite that I'm currently using for impure/informal reasons, and add that there. I want a collection of all the rites I'm currently doing, just to give a sense of what my practice looks like.

I'm... undecided if I will include shrine pictures. For a long time now, my shrines have not wanted to be seen. And that may still be the case but idk. We'll see. Perhaps they'll allow a photo if I take off some of the more personal things. Then at least there's some sense of where my practice happens.

I may need to think on that some more. I would write, but my hands are sore again lol. So I'm going to leave this here and do some more Big Thonks and see what I end up doing tomorrow.
