Performance Piece commissioned by the MoMa.

Trans artist Juliana Huxtable directly addresses the dilution of queer history. Her work oftentimes reflects back on what events are remembered and what are forgotten. Based off of our readings and videos this week, I was immediately reminded of her performance piece at MoMa. In historical cosplay, Huxtable recites her meditative poems to music and reflects back on the editing of history. Her work is deeply connected to the struggles of black queer women.
