Napier: Perfume Point
On our first morning in Napier we started with a drive around the historic fishing village of Ahuriri (also the Māori name for Napier) and stopped at Perfume Point.
Apparently it's called Perfume Point as a bit of a joke because there used to be a sewerage outflow here.
But now there's just this beautifully painted structure and a dark pebble beach.
We continued around the headland and then headed up into the hills to the Bluff Lookout, where we could see the sheer quantity of logs waiting to be shipped out of Napier's port.
