I can’t say I’ve explored a whole ton of fandoms, but I gotta say, there has been a veritable night/day difference since crossing into this Vertigo/DC pool of tumblr’s RP pool. Like, let me make it clear that there was nothing unwelcoming about my previous fandom, but it definitely took some time for me to gain foothold, if you will. By contrast, everyone was very patient and good to me because you gotta understand, I literally made this blog within god...maybe ten issues of reading Hellblazer ???? Less????? I just know like way too soon I was screaming at @ariseasvictor over Skype like WHAT HAVE YOU DONE??? I LOVE THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE AND I THINK I WANNA WRITE HIM LOLOLOL FRIC K WHAT AM I DOING ????? (I’ve known her for awhile. She was like my second RP partner on tumblr, and has been referring to and reccing me Hellblazer off and on for the better part of a year. Anyway, so this is all her fault XD; ). Like, usually I like knowing a character backwards and forwards, at least one that isn’t mine, before I start writing for them. The urge to write for this trash lord was just so strong. I was hella nervous because, though I did make it very clear and was somewhat slow on heavy interaction while I was reading the series after torrenting the bulk of it, I did feel very presumptuous undertaking this blog with rudimentary working knowledge of my muse’s canon. However no one ever treated me as such or gave me shit for this fact. I can’t express my gratitude enough over this fact. It made me a lot more comfortable and confident in my writing John, encouraged to keep reading almost daily (I can’t tell you how often I’d sit down to read an arc or two and end up reading 15-20 issues in a sitting. Still took me roughly four months between work and reading JLD as well). So like, idek if I can speak for others, but in my experience, this fandom has been very good to me.
