#KumbakkaraiFalls are lesser known falls in the foothills of the #Kodaikanal Hills. They are located at in #Dindigul district, 9 kilometers from #Periyakulam. #Kumbakkarai Falls are located along the Kodai-Vellagavi-Periyakulam footpath. These falls have two stages. At the first stage, water collects in huge rock recesses which are each named after wild animals such as tiger, elephant, snake etc. The Pambar river then flows .5 km (0.31 mi) to the second stage before falling as the main #waterfall. The water originates in #KodaikanalHills and flows along the rocks and finally reaches the foot hills. This place is called Kumbakarai. The travellers come here and take bath in the falls. The water flows throughout the year; but in rainy seasons the flow will be very heavy. Bathing is possible. There is a bus from #Periyakulam with fare of Rs. 5 (6AM,7AM,1PM,3.30PM,4.30PM). SBI loan scam: In 6 months 15 'borrowers' die, 1 missing in Tamil Nadu

As many as 15 people, who were borrowers in the Rs 600 million SBI loan scam in Virudhanagar and Theni districts of Tamil Nadu, have died under suspicious circumstances in the last six months, The Times of India reports. Another borrower has gone missing.

According to the ToI report, police has confirmed that all those found dead were from Virudhnagar and nearby villages and had loans in their name, however, there has not been a probe into these deaths.

All the deceased were workers in a mill owned by one of the accused in the case.

Police has registered cases of unnatural deaths under Section 174 of the CrPC.

The ToI report has confirmed the names of three of the deceased who are: Mahalingam, Rajagopal and Pandi. Out of these Rajagopal's dead body was found on a road in his neighbourhood, while the rest of the two died at their homes, the police has said.

Another borrower has gone missing. Kumbakarai Falls – hot and dry

After spending time in Sothuparai Dam, we decided to move on to Kumbakarai Falls which is about 10 kms, half an hour drive from Periyakulam. As we neared the main gate of Kumbakarai Falls, we were informed that there was no water flowing and the place is completely dry.
