apple: what do you use more, tumblr or twitter?
eh depends. I use both for different purposes lmao.
Some days I miss the times when I could have evenings where I didn't have 1 or 2 messages to check and reply to, and when I didn't get lured into a conversation whenever I turned on the damn wifi.
And all these passive information-checking things now have social elements to them. Wanna check your newsfeed and notifications on Facebook? Oh look, you have a message. Play your silly, ridiculously addictive rhythm game for a half hour? You can see when your ex is online through in-game chat. Heck, you might even be tempted to type something.
I could turn off my phone, I could refuse to open Facebook, I could turn off the wifi. But I don't want to. I'm addicted to knowing what's going on. I wanna keep an ear open. So I don't get much silence anymore.
From when I wake up to when I go to sleep, online is the default, offline a deliberate rebellion. Come talk to me any time of the day or night. Something in me doesn't let me say no.
