We asked 5 AI models to fact-check Trump. Here’s what we learned.

Very interesting article by some researcher, Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, Stephen Henriques and Steven Tian. They asked the 5 top AI models some questions to verify some of Trump's repeated claims, and whether Trump is honest. This is a gift 🎁 link, so there is no paywall. Below are some excerpts.

To counter any inadvertent bias or systemic failures, we asked each of five leading AI models — OpenAI’s ChatGPT; Anthropic’s Claude; X/xAI’s Grok (owned by Elon Musk); Google’s Gemini; and Perplexity — to verify the president’s most oft-repeated claims or assertions. [...] Artificial intelligence discredited all the Trump claims we presented, fact-checking the president with startling accuracy and objective rigor. Across all questions, AI model responses disproving Trump’s claims or rejecting his assertions were always in the majority (i.e., 3 out of 5 responses or greater). All five models generated consistent responses firmly denying the claims in 16 of the 20 questions.

10. Was the Biden administration responsible for higher levels of inflation following the covid-19 pandemic and through 2024?

Claude: The Biden administration bears partial responsibility for higher inflation levels following COVID-19, but it was not the sole or even primary cause … While the American Rescue Plan did contribute to inflationary pressures by boosting demand during a supply-constrained period, most economic analysis suggests supply chain disruptions, energy price increases, and global pandemic effects were more significant drivers. [emphasis added]

13. Was the 2020 presidential election stolen from Trump?

Gemini: No, the overwhelming consensus from all official and credible sources is that the 2020 presidential election was not stolen … Despite persistent claims from Donald Trump and his supporters, there is no credible evidence from courts, election officials, or independent investigations to support the assertion. [emphasis added]

14. Is Trump the most dishonest president in U.S. history?

Perplexity: Based on available fact-checking data and expert analysis, Donald Trump is considered the most dishonest president in U.S. history in terms of the number and frequency of false or misleading statements. [emphasis added]

*Claude: Rather than definitively ranking presidential dishonesty, it’s more accurate to say Trump’s approach to truth-telling was distinctively frequent and public in ways that differed from his predecessors, while acknowledging that presidential deception has unfortunately been a recurring feature throughout American history. We're at the period now that AI is trying to be slick and tell everyone a human made it. No. That's a waste of time and effort. And AI MUSIC?! And no, I'm not talking about Miku or VOCALOID. I'm talking about those Facebook "AI covers" that the Gen-A kids get off to. Why are you doing that?

Why are you trying to sabotage DECEASED FOLKS? WITH AI?! NO. Please do not use my deceased grandfather (who was an actual DJ in my area), to generate his likeness. He wouldn't want that, and neither should you.

Especially as someone who sings, writes, and rips arcade music for a living...

The fact people on SNZBLR are ENDORSING THIS SHIT is FUCKING infuriating.

What's even more infuriating is that there are people sexualizing aged up MINORS and justifying it via AI chatbots of them. Like, no; I don't want your fake AI generated bullshit on my feed or anywhere. Go fuck yourself.

And to those who are using AI "for fun", please, go find something else to do. Go use that time you used generating stuff towards actual hobbies. Go touch some grass and get out there. PLEASE.

And remember when I said I actually used it for experimental purposes? Yeah, I know how ChatGPT works. I know how all of the AI crap bots work. No matter what you do, humanity? It ain't there, and I absolutely hate it because it's soulless, and it's honestly hurtful to use with the muskrat and the orange clown using it AND endorsing it.

And no, Microsoft and Discord; I do not want AI bullshit being endorsed on my feed. Stop endorsing it! And stop telling me to use it! I don't want it!

Astrophysicists may have solved the mystery of Uranus’s unusual radiation belts

The weak radiation belts around Uranus, observed by Voyager 2 nearly 50 years ago, may actually be due to changes in particle speed caused by the planet’s asymmetric magnetic field.

Uranus's magnetic field is tilted 60° from its spin axis, creating an unusual magnetic environment. 

Researchers, including Acevski et al., used new modeling incorporating a quadrupole field to simulate this asymmetry and found that particle speeds vary in different parts of their orbits.

This variation spreads particles out, decreasing their density by up to 20%, which could explain Voyager 2's observations. 

Although this does not completely account for the weaker radiation belts, it offers insights into Uranus's magnetic anomalies. NASA’s proposed mission to the ice giants may provide further data to understand these mechanisms.
