"It is a pity I stopped them fighting," Shi'ndra muses, settling comfortably in front of the fire between them. He can feel its warmth through his boots, and for a moment, considers removing them entirely. He thinks better of it, and turns his attention to Violet. "I would have loved to have seen the outcome of Lae'zel and Shadowheart in a duel to the death. I have not been privvy to one of those in years, as exciting as they are."

Eliana keeps herself together rather well, all things considered. When their father dies, she plays her same dutiful role. Along with Violet, she helps get the Project Purity scientists safely to the Citadel.    ----   She can only stay numb for so long.

When she’s assured that her sister is asleep, Eliana slips from the small room assigned to them by the Brotherhood. She slumps to a seat in the hallway, and lets the barrage of tears she has held back slip down her cheeks.

Kira is obviously bitter about the whole thing, opening her fridge and pulling out a beer. Offering her friend one in return. They'd met during her residency that she hasn't finished yet. Violet seemed like a nice girl. They hung out from time to time.

"What are they calling it online? 'Gal'entine's Day? I'm surprised you're not out and about. Then again, I guess being a nurse doesn't give you much time to socialize outside of work, does it?"

She sighs, leaning on the small bar in the kitchen. Looking out through the small window at Violet. Popping open her beer can and taking a sip.

"You're welcome to throw something up on the T.V. if you want."

Any bite to his tone was fairly smoothed out by the way Nick was rushing over to help Violet inside-- over to the couch where she could sit, and he could help tend to her.

Maybe he was exaggerating a little bit, as the old gumshoe tended to do. Wouldn't stop him from fussing. "Sit down-- what happened? Don't tell me you got into another scrap at the Dugout."

His answer is absolute and finite. As though he really didn't have to think on it that much at all. After all, she was going to be the mother of his child, and though they didn't know each other that well, he was still fond of her. At least for now.

He still calls it 'work'. As though saying it out loud would make it real or she'd figure it out. Then again, was it not obvious? Perhaps they both just didn't want to acknowledge the distaste. Or how the Legion would feel about Cicero having a wife and especially having a son. If it turned out that way.
