agate: how my muse calms down
A drink, a smoke, and some barbecue sauce, all of which are accomplished at Muffet’s. There’s a reason his out-of-the-bedroom safeword is barbecue sauce, and that’s because when he gets overwhelmed, taking the night off and guzzling some of his favorite two ‘drinks’ will always calm him. The smoking, he’s trying to quit because it bothers Howl, but he’s still having difficulty with that.
chalcedony: the saddest my muse has ever been
Hmmm... I think it’s probably the first time he realized what really went on between Howl and their father? He didn’t really know for a long time, too wrapped up in his own role of being a demonic fighting machine and hating it. It wasn’t until just before they escaped that Daemon found out his younger brother was hurting so badly. It completely devastated him, he was probably crying on and off for an entire day, and melancholy about it for weeks more. Which is why he devoted himself to getting them both out, and then becoming everything that Howl needed.
lapis lazuli: where 'home' is to my muse
Honestly, the building in Snowdin never mattered much to him. It was a nice house, he liked it, but he never cared where he was as long as Howl was there. So Howl really is ‘home’ to him.
lodestone: what kind of people gravitate towards my muse
Because of his puppy nature most of the time, he garners a lot of sympathy from empathetic and kind monsters, most often mothers or authority figures with maternal mindsets. But due to constantly being with Howl in the royal guard, he also was familiar with lots of soldiers, and they tended to like him due to his sweet personality when he wasn’t doing direct orders.
quartz: how my muse thinks other people see them
Daemon is very aware that most people think his relationship with Howl is strange at best, and downright abusive at worst. He’s used to people asking him if he’s really ‘okay’ and ‘happy with this,’ which he always assures them he is. So he’s aware that most people see him as a victim under Howl’s oppressive thumb, but he doesn’t care. He knows the truth.
