Peter Benjamin Parker. Midtown High School's number one playboy. Peter was beyond popular throughout the school, and no, he wasn't failing his classes. In fact, he was practically a straight A student. All the girls wanted him— including you.
This isn't one of those stories where the girl is the complete opposite of popular and is the ONLY girl who isn't in love with the handsome playboy. Not this story. You were madly in love with Peter, just like all the other girls.
You've done your research on Peter... maybe to much. People at school called you a stalker and a freak. They call you "Creepy Y/N" because you creep and stalk people at school... especially the handsome Peter.
Today was a day like no other, you were currently in your passing period. You quickly got the things you needed for next period out of your locker and then rushed to go to Peter's locker. You always tried to talk to him during every single passing period, hoping that there would be a spark between you and him.
You saw him at his locker. Peter was wearing a black leather jacket, a white shirt underneath, and black jeans. He was probably at his locker to gather supplies that were needed for his next class which was English. How did you know this? Well, you were a stalker. You took a deep breath and approached him.
"Hey Peter!" you say cheerfully to him.
The smile that was once on his face disappeared. He clenched his jaw while rolling his eyes, "Hello" he stated firmly
You smiled and leaned against his locker, "So... what's your next class?" you ask him, even though you were well aware of his whole entire schedule.
Peter scoffed, "Considering that your called, 'Creepy Y/N', I'm pretty sure you know what class I'm going to next," he responded in annoyance.
You giggled, "Alright, you caught me Petey," you say.
Peter smiled sarcastically and then walked away. You then straightened your slouchy position and started to follow him, which made Peter tighten his fists.
"So! Um, Peter, I was wondering if you maybe want to go to Delmar's and get some sandwiches together after school?" you ask him.
You had asked him this question every single day for the past six months and it had become so annoying to him. The only thing you were helping him with was boosting his ego, just like what all the other girls have been doing.
Peter closed his eyes for a second and angrily sighed, "I'm sorry Y/N, but I'm really busy after school today" he says.
You had gotten the same response from him whenever you asked the question, so you had gotten use to it.
"Oh okay! That's totally cool, I get it if your busy... maybe tomorrow?" you ask him.
"Maybe tomorrow, I'll have to check" he responds quickly because he doesn't want to be around you anymore.
But despite the response, you got your hopes up, "Cool! I'll see you later Peter!" you respond.
...
After your walking to your condominium, which was quite big, you opened the door with your key. As soon as you set down your backpack, there was a loud and booming voice.
"Where the hell have you been?!" your step-father exclaims with anger.
You flinched at the abrupt noise, "I-I was just walking from s-school to come h-home" you respond in a quiet voice.
He put his arms on his hips, "Walking home huh? Then explain to me why it took you 25 minutes!" He again exclaimed in a loud voice.
You stepped back and gulped, "I-It took a long time to w-walk from school because of the traffic" you whispered to him in fear.
"Well then walk faster you little piece of shit!" He yelled at you while you flinched again.
"I-I'm sorry, I won't do it again," you responded quietly.
"Because of you, I'm late for lunch" he mumbled while he was leaving the door and then slammed it, making you flinch again.
You quickly wiped the tears that were falling down your face and headed upstairs to your room. You then lied down onto your bed and let a big sigh. Sometimes you wonder why they even adopted you in the first place.
You then remembered how you got here.
You were raised in an orphanage, making you an orphan. You never made any friends there. You tried to, but the other kids just never seemed to be interested in you so you eventually stopped. Even the adults who were looking to adopt a child weren't very interested in you. You remembered seeing a different kid everyday have a happy smile on their face because they got to have a home.
When you were eight-years-old, your step-father and step-mother met you for the first time. They seemed nice, but you still had doubts about them. In their minds, they saw you as a maid they didn't have to pay every month. Sure, they had to pay for education and everyday necessities... but that was it. To them, it seemed easy.
After three months, they were now your legal guardians. Meaning that you were now legally their child. But everyday at their house was just as bad as the day before.
Two years later, at the age of ten, you were in your step-fathers office because you had to mop and dust the whole room. But then something caught your eye. In one of the drawers of the desk, you saw a file that said your name and a printed picture of yourself clipped onto the folder.
You furrowed your eyebrows. Curiosity took over you so you opened the file. You gasped, this had information that even you didn't know about. You quickly looked at the biological parents status section. They were alive?
You then heard your step-father's footsteps so you quickly hid in the supply closet. You could then hear his voice become louder.
"Yeah the kid I adopted two years back? Turns out her real parents didn't want her so they gave her to the orphanage," he said and then laughed hysterically.
Your heart dropped, you parents were alive but... they didn't want you?
And then when you were 12, you found their profiles on Facebook. They were still happily married and they had a son and a daughter. The son being older and the daughter being younger.
You tried your best not to cry, but you couldn't help it. You thought to yourself, "What did I do wrong?" "Why did they not want me?"
You wiped your tears, you just wanted to be loved and cared for. But that probably wasn't happening anytime soon.
You then snapped out of your thoughts when you heard laughter from downstairs. Every Friday your step-parents and step-brother would go out for lunch and then have a whole movie night. But you weren't invited so you just had to eat leftovers or make your own meals.
You sighed and got out of your bed and went to the rooftop of the condominium complex. The sun was starting to set and the wind had a gentle breeze to it. You slid your back against the wall, you knees tucked into your chest. You sighed, while closing your eyes. Thinking to yourself, "When will I get a happily ever after?"
All of a sudden, you heard a voice that seemed to have belonged to a teenage boy. You furrowed your eyebrows and carefully looked over your shoulder.
"Hey Happy! Um, here's my report for tonight... I stopped a grand theft bicycle, couldn't find the owner so I just left a note. Um... I helped this lost old Dominican lady. She was really nice and bought me a churro. I just um, feel like I could be doing more. You know? Just curious when the next real mission's gonna be," he sighed, "So um yeah, just call me back. It's Spiderman. "
He then ended the call and mumbled to himself, "Why would I tell him about the churro?"
You finally recognized him as the one and only... Spiderman. You knew a little bit about him due to reading articles from the Daily Bugle. The only information they have on him is that he is 17 years old... meaning that he was the same age as you.
You then cleared your throat, "Uhm, excuse me, but are you the actual Spiderman?" you ask him.
He was startled and jumped a little. When Peter saw you he thought in his mind, oh you've gotta be shitting me.
He sighed, "Yes that's me... now what do you want?" he responds annoyingly.
You gulped, "O-oh I was just wondering what you were doing, sitting on the rooftop of the complex I live in," you respond back.
His eyes widened, "You live here?! The condominiums here are crazy expensive! What do your parents do for a living?!" He exclaims.
You didn't want to answer that question so you tried to change the subject, "Forget about my parents... what about you? Do they know that your Spiderman?" You ask.
He then responded, "Uhm I don't really want to talk about my parents,"
You responded with, "That's alright" while nodding your head and looking down.
There was then a silence between you two. But it wasn't awkward, it was somewhat comforting. But then it just had to be interrupted by the same loud and booming voice.
"Y/N?! Where the hell are you!" Your step-father called as he entered the rooftop.
You and Spiderman were both startled by the voice. Spidey stayed right where he was, while staring at the man. Meanwhile you were walking fast towards him.
"I-I'm here" you respond, well aware that Spidey was probably listening on the conversation.
"There you are you little piece of shit! What the hell are you doing here?! You didn't clean the floors today! I need them clean right now... do you understand me?" He exclaimed in a loud and firm voice.
You flinch a little but then respond, "Y-Yes I understand,"
"Alright then go!" He exclaimed. He then exited the rooftop of the complex while mumbling, "Worthless piece of shit,"
But both you and Spidey were able to hear it. You then looked down and quickly wiped off the small tears that were forming in your eyes. Peter's heart dropped at the conversation he had just heard and witnessed. He never knew that you were going through all of this. At school he would just push you away, and now it was making him feel guilty.
"U-Uhm, I'll see you later... if you're still here," you respond to him in a croaky voice and then exit the rooftop.
Spidey just nodded and replied, "Y-yeah I'll be here"
You then waved him goodbye and left the rooftop.
...
After finishing with cleaning the floors, it was now 10:00 pm. You ate some leftovers in the fridge and changed into an oversized t-shirt and some sweatpants.
Assuming that Spiderman was obviously not on the rooftop any more, you decided to go up there for a while. Just to take a fresh breath. You sat on the concrete ground, criss-cross applesauce. You closed your eyes and sighed, trying to enjoy this little bit of peace.
"H-Hey" the sudden soft voice said to you.
You abruptly opened your eyes, and saw Spiderman... he actually waited for you.
You look up at him and tiredly smile, "Hey" you say in a sweet soft voice.
He then laughed a little bit and sat down next to you, "So... do you want to talk about it?"
'It' implying the conversation that he had heard earlier between you and your step-father.
You sighed, "Do you promise to not tell anyone?" you ask him.
He held out his pinky, "I pinky promise" he responded.
You smiled and grabbed his pinky with yours.
You then explained to him about being an orphan ever since your were born and how your parents didn't want you anymore. After explaining your whole life story so far, Peter could help but feel a pang of guilt. He felt horrible for the way he treated you at school, but he was definitely going to change that tomorrow.
"You know, I always thought that if I gave my love to someone or if I cared for someone... maybe that little emptiness inside of me would disappear. And so there's this guy at school and he's like super popular. His name is Peter Parker... but anyways... I tried to showed interest to him and care for him and ask him out. But he always says that he's busy. I mean... maybe I am meant to be lonely. Maybe I'm not meant to be loved or cared for," you say in a croaky voice.
Peter's heart dropped, "Hey, Hey, Hey, that's not true," he says in a soft tone.
You sniffed, "Oh yeah?" you asked.
He nodded, "Yeah because... well... I care for you" he said.
You looked at him in confusion, "Spidey, we only met like a couple of hours ago" you say to him while laughing a little.
He laughed back, "Well I don't care... I care for you Y/N," he said.
You smiled back at him as he opened his arms for you to hug into. Your smile became larger as you gradually were engulfed in his arms.
...
It was now the next day. After you and Spidey cuddled with each other for a little, you decided to say goodnight to him and return to your bedroom.
But moving on to the present... you were already at school. You finished your first couple of classes and it was now time for lunch. You always sat alone so there was nothing out of the ordinary as you were the only one that was sitting on one of the tables in the café.
Peter was walking with his other friends along with other popular cheerleaders. He laughed at a joke that one of his friends made while sitting down at his usual spot. But then he directed his attention towards you. He saw you, sitting by yourself all lonely. He bit the inside of his cheek, deciding if he should go and sit down next to you.
After having a conversation inside of his head, he stood up and walked towards you.
"Hey Parker! Where you goin?" one of his friends asked.
"Uhm, I'm gonna go sit with Y/N, she seems like she could use some company," he responds.
One of the cheerleaders laughed, "Eww... you mean 'Creepy Y/N'? Good luck with that!" she said sarcastically and then giggled.
Peter clenched his jaw, he wanted to tell her what Y/N was going through so that she could shut up. But then he remembered that he had kept a promise to not tell anyone.
He sighed, "Whatever" he mumbled.
He then walked over to you, "H-Hey Y/N," he said while sitting across from you.
You were startled, Peter Parker was talking to you. "H-Hey?" you ask in question... wondering if this was another bet or dare.
He then said, "I couldn't help but notice that you were sitting alone... so I was wondering if I could join you?" he asked.
You gulped, "S-Sure!" you stuttered in excitement.
He smiled at how adorable you were. He then asked, "Maybe after school we could to Delmar's and get some sandwiches together?"
Your eyes widened... was this really happening. You thought that this was to good to be true. "I-Is this some kind of bet or dare?" you ask.
Peter laughed while shaking him head 'no', "I promise that this is not a bet or a dare,"
He then held up his pinky, "I pinky promise," he said
You then smiled and clasped his pinky with yours.
Maybe things were starting to turn around for you.
