Nobody Reading This in 2022 Will Agree, but in 100 Years It Will Be LAW
At some point in the VERY near future, humanity--particularly U.S. citizens--will HAVE to re-examine our relationship to ANIMALS, period.
Simply NOT eating them (or their products) aint enough. What is it to be vegan or vegetarian when we still ENSLAVING them for our own selfish benefit??
You may think that my words are extreme, but if you sit quietly and REALLY reflect on them, you will SEE:
Recreational hunting, pet ownership and zoos are inherently WRONG.
Waiting for a hungry bear to emerge from her den after awakening from hibernation and then SHOOTING HER FOR SPORT IS WRONG.
Wounding horses to make them "dance" is WRONG.
Clipping the wings (!!!) of birds so that they can't escape from their enclosure in captivity--just so we can peek at them at our leisure-- is WRONG.
[Can you IMAGINE the uproar that would happen if we did ANY of these things to dogs??? Their loyalty to humans has earned them a protected status smh.]
Forcing cute, furry animals to live with us without having access to other animals of their kind or alternate ways of living --is WRONG.
This even applies to emotional support animals, which are immensely helpful yet still being held captive. We have alternatives now...
Unlike our predecessors, we now have the technology to eradicate the need for captive pets (I.e. animals that have ZERO agency over their own movement in the world. Animals that are allowed to come and go as they please are not being held captive, obviously.) and zoos. When the world was under quarantine, what did everybody do? They used the internet (technology) to watch animals in their natural habitats. When we need to de-activate a bomb what do we use? ROBOTS. There is no reason why we can't cover them in fur and use them as pets on a wider scale.
