i tried to limit putting my MVs here and instead focus on still art, but i didn't make anything else in march i liked (plus that one is really cute and i'm happy/proud that i finally drew that scene in wanderers!)
other than that. oops! all irkens! flipp crashed into my house and forced me to draw them nonstop. i don't know how this happened. this reminds me of something i said, one second...

what other comments... oh! i uh. theres a big uptick of yaoi here too. i tried to limit it. i really did. but i drew them nonstop all year. june and november would've been yaoi before i stopped myself. that june ir-7620 completely changed the way i shaded so it takes precedent, and the november one is personal so i replaced it with a wip i liked :)
artfight months were hard to choose in particular... so many cool things i did and so many cool ocs... if i could paste all my AF art here i would... using mush bc i think that one is pretty in particular :)

i never made a 2022 art summary huh. here it is! all of them except may are iz/ely things LMAO...
theres honestly a certain kind of charm from my art from 2022.... i feel like there's something lacking in my rendering now and i can't place my finger on it... maybe its the add layers? or maybe its just me :Vc who knows!! all i know is that im having fun ^_^

yeah! sploo-khi used to have a III appended after his name, to show that he was the third iteration of the "sploo-khi identity," but i wanted something more personal and fun to write so i didn't stick with that.
i've been saving posting this ramble because i wanted to draw that, but i really don't think i'll get around to it so you can have the discord rambles.
this scrapped backstory is part of the reason why this art has the words "connection lost" on him, while also emphasizing his image (his barbecue fork!) but honestly, this still applies to CURRENT canon.
after all, sploo-khi records hologram recordings of himself to play during pit fights. this "virtual" aspect of him still exists, he's just an actual person now (and i can do much more interesting things with Reflections Of The Ego and shit with him, which has been really fun.)
and also, sploo-khi has this whole peculiarity with computerization in his story, too. he's very particular about not having any irken brain automation in his systems, not even budging on small things that can be automated like his gift shops. i wonder why that is. explaining why would be spoilers :3c

i've been reorganizing flipp's backstory before the steakhouse, and i think i'm solidifying them as an elite-in-training aspiring to become an invader (not particularly because they WANT to, but it's what everyone around them wants + would praise them for...)
they only got so far because a lot of fellow soldiers and affluent commanders thought their eagerness to assist was endearing and kept them around. other than that their abilities are pretty average, and absolutely CANNOT be assertive or sneaky. their combat abilities only just barely passed, it was NOT an impressive display.
(the test gives them a bit of an identity crisis. they realize they don't know what they like outside of "being helpful." that's why the service drone comment pangs so much. they're a soldier, not a drone. right..?)
anyway. flipp does eventually pass their final test. they saw it as their escape from food service hell. unfortunately, a certain grill-lord doesn't like the idea of losing an employee... i might make a thing for that soon :3

misc little ramb about skssshbbq development hell‼️ (about developing the restaurant itself, plus sploo-khi and flipp things)
designing skssshbbq stuff is SO HARD. what do you MEAN i have to worldbuild. this SUCKS (its so fun but so much work.)
im fighting for my LIFE over here man. im so insistent on keeping sploo-khi's color palette plastered all over the restaurant and other related imagery because he's SUPER self absorbed and you know he'd do that and force people to think it looks good 😭 logo design is hard.
im value mapping my concept art rn! colors TO BE ADDED LATER... i have to plan out the colors now cuz if i dont all my skssshbbq art will be inconsistent and ill HATE myself for it LOL (but this also means i havent been able to make rendered pieces for it 💔💔) SOON HOPEFULLY!!
i worry that i draw flipp and sploo-khi too much together but i cant help it... theyre so fun to draw together!! but i feel like it goes against what the whole story is about! flipp does not have equal power to sploo-khi, and sploo-khi doesn't rly care abt flipp!!! so it feels like i'm making the conflict seem much more focused on mad employee vs boss rather than employee stuck and jaded by the system... but then i realize im overthinking this and no one will think that LOL. i love stories guys.
ah and. i've been worried about my depiction of sploo-khi. i've elaborated on it on his toyhouse page for now. eventually i'm gonna replace it with a theme which'll make these thoughts less visible, so i'm placing a screenie here for posterity.

a lot of what i feel abt polybius gb ALSO applies to final blenderman!!!! except final blenderman has WAYY more electric guitar YEAHHHH!! camellia final drops. the shift from rock guitar to chiptune melody, and an extratoneish finale,, reminds me a bit of million pp actually? haha. it miiiight be my favorite song? it outranked buzzbox a while ago but tbh this place might be slipping for like, the muzzle facing.

artcore is usually an "eh, its good" for me (i have a lot of artcore i enjoy, like fallen symphony) but #1f1e33 is different.. just felt like pointing it out (esp since this album has a longer version of it) like! i never felt BORED! every section builds! and has interesting auditory textures! lol. ig thats how u keep my attention (not that "being boring" is inherently bad ofc)
i have really fond memories of listening to microwave-proof cat in like, 10th/9th grade... sighh that song is so fun. the main melody's texture is just so bouncy. kisses it.
