I'm going to grad school, baby!!!!!!

All I can say is that having a beer and watching a movie meant that I finished all of my work that I wanted to get done today. So I guess it was a good call.

Things I learned in my first year of grad school

How to read papers.

How to read Cell papers.

How to read Science papers.

How to pretend like I’ve read papers.

How to pretend like I’ve read Cell papers.

How to pretend like I’ve read Science papers.

That grades are made up and the points don’t matter.

Finally started working out again this weekend.

Spent 11 hours in lab today.

Now, for a beer and reading this paper

If Drunk History called me up, I could hold my own with Disney history but that is like it.

My final student reviews at Texas A&M came in. Even the class that I thought hated me said some amazing things. I had a student from the same area where I grew up in state how proud she was to see a Latino represent our community. They went on to say how they wished there were more TA’s like me and they hope to one day be in my shoes.

It also makes my big move come this Fall much more real. I hope I get to make my own course while finishing my PhD.
