Hey folks! It looks like my queue for Faeriedell has run out. That's because I've been hyperfixated something else for the past few weeks. To cut a long, rambly, story short: I've been setting up a neighborhood that is Deadlands inspired, if you're familiar with Deadlands. If you're not, to copy directly from Wikipedia:

"Deadlands is a genre-mixing alternate history role-playing game which combines the Western and horror genres, with some steampunk elements."

I'm not really going for horror (at least, not yet, who knows) but a fictionalized Western-inspired town with inspo from history, Deadlands, Malifaux, other fantasy books I've read recently, you know. This project has had me in its teeth for quite a while. It's seeping into other creative outlets.

Anyway. That's where I've been. I'm elbow deep in remembering how to use Milkshape to mesh clothes because I haven't sussed out how to do it in Blender, and because I'm crazy. I want to default replace the modern clothes, and I need more options for separates.

Right, there was a hiccup (see below the read more) with the baby face project, but I've sorted it out now. There's no stopping me! :P

Is anyone interested in roguebotanist's default faces V2 having infant faces? I've already done them for myself, will probably upload regardless (unless someone else has already done them and I couldn't find them?) but I'll do it sooner if someone else wants them. I am also working on adding infant faces to the nondefault templates they've shared.

I mistakenly thought that if I didn't want to edit the baby face, I could skip the whole TEMP_BU-PU part of the process. I was very wrong.

Not me deciding to now add baby face genetics to the sims in Faeriedell, ahaha... 5 down, 10 to go.

It's not that bad, really. I've even set up a spreadsheet to speed the renaming process along. So much copy/pasting.

I hope to complete this task before Enna has her baby so hopefully the pay off is near immediate. 🤞

You won't have noticed because I've been queuing these posts, but I got a new, shinier SSD (with 4x more space) for my pc. 🥳

The installation of which made my Sims install on a different drive decide to not work. 👎

I've had to spend some time reinstalling it and everything that goes along with that. This is how it's going:

How are you playing your rotations, if you play in rotations?

I used to play with each season being a round, so 5 days per family before moving on. With some families, it really felt like a chore to play 5 days in a row. I've been trying out 1 day rounds in Belladonna Cove and to my surprise, I really like it.

I've been trying to decide how I might go about sharing my gameplay if I make 1 day rounds the standard. I could hoard pictures until the end of a season (so 5 rounds of play) and then post, or I could just post each round as I play it, though not much might happen in a single round.

My poor LEPacy Strangetown has been through so many gameplay changes already and here I am, contemplating changing it even more. 🤦

It's my birthday! 🥳

I thought about doing some cc as a kind of birthday event but my creativity has been spent elsewhere lately. I've been learning to use Blender to make 3d printable stuff. 😄

My queue runs into October, which is wild. That's the longest it's ever been and I have new pictures to edit and throw in there, too. I may not have been creating for ts2 but man, have I been playing. There are so many households in my Strangetown! 😳
