This sandwich is a tasty take on the traditional Philly cheesesteak. It has grilled chicken, melted provolone cheese, sauted bell peppers and onions, and a toasted bun with a tasty mayo spread.
Ingredients: 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts. 4 slices of provolone cheese. 1/2 cup sliced bell peppers assorted colors. 1/2 cup sliced onions. 4 hamburger buns. 2 tablespoons olive oil. Salt and pepper to taste. 1/4 cup mayonnaise. 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard. 1 clove garlic, minced. 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce.
Instructions: Warm up your grill or pan on the stove by setting it on medium-high heat. Place chicken breasts on a grill or in a pan and season with salt and pepper. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes on each side until fully cooked. In a different pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat while the chicken is cooking. Slice the onions and bell peppers and add them. Saut them until they get soft and a little caramelized. To make a tasty spread, put mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl and mix them together. Put a slice of provolone cheese on top of each chicken breast when it's done and let it melt a little. You can grill or toast the hamburger buns until they are just barely browned. Put the sandwiches together: Add the mayo mix to the bottom half of each bun. On top of the mayo spread, put the chicken breast with cheese. Add a lot of peppers and onions that have been sauted. Put the other half of the bun on top. Enjoy your Philly Cheese & Chicken Sandwich while it's still hot!
