Black-necked crane are the usual winter ‘tourists’ in Bhutan. They went to Bhutan in late October and leave in next year’s February.
In 1982, The number of Black-necked crane was dropped drastically to 200, due to human activities and low reproduction rate. Fortunately, under the protection from different parties, the number of black-necked cranes has risen to 7000 recently.
