Summer of Whump
Day 12 Death/Rebirth
It was an ordinary day, his sister had dropped him off for his morning classes at the local college before she went off to her own classes. He was so lucky to have her, she always encouraged him to be his crazy smart ass self. Nothing about the day indicated the change that was about to happen. Michael took his seat next to the only other 12 year old in college, Lucille.
He would never admit it to anyone but he really liked Lucille. He could be himself around her instead of the jumpy mess he usually is with people. He really loved that about her and to him she was the prettiest woman to grace the earth. Long raven hair, fair skin, and glowing amber eyes.
The class went by normally until the alarms went off. Villain activity nearby meant we had to shelter in place until the heroes or authorities handled the situation. The rumbling seemed far off in the distance, but kept getting closer. Until the roof caved in. I reacted and pushed Lucille to the ground covering her with my body.
I felt the debris crush us. She looked at me and I at her. We both knew we were dying. I hope my sister is okay, this will hurt her. “It’s going to be okay….the rescue teams will save us” I try to keep her calm as tears roll down her face.
“I don’t want to die, Michael.” My eyes lit up. I didn’t thing she knew my name! She knows my name! But does that matter anymore…. “Hang in there Lucille. I promise, they have to be working on digging us out!” Another explosion goes off nearby shifting the debris and I can see it in her face. The light leave her eyes. Once shining blue flames now cold empty hearths. I weep for her as I draw my own last breath….
…….
…what? I open my eyes as smoke bellows over me. I’m naked, but very much alive…. How? I look around and find no explanation. Lucille was crushed even further with my body no longer over her. Blood pools around her and the charred area outlining her body. This is all too much! All too much!

Renaming Odyssey Star’s Initial Release
The initial release of ODYSSEY STAR, which was originally titled LEGACY, now has a title that I have settled on. The cover itself is not changing except for the title of the series and the title of the book. The title of the series is the main character of the book, LADY FIONA (Fiona Harley). The title of the book is LADY FIONA, SENTINEL PRINCESS.
The trilogy will wrap up in Nov 2018.
