“ I don’t know how much longer I can endure this. ” with Huey?

Angst starters - send me one and I’ll write a short scene!

“I don’t know how much longer I can endure this.”  Huey tucked his legs up against his chest, wrapping his arms around his knees.  His down feathers were bristling, as he looked down at the floor.

Webby snuggled up against his side with a small, sad smile.  “I’m really sorry about before.  I know things…got out of hand.”

“It’s not just that.”  Huey shook his head.  Webby had been terrifying, true, though she had only been acting on her training.  What had scared him most, underneath it all, was just how much they didn’t know and couldn’t know.  An attack really could come from nowhere, and when it did, it wouldn’t be someone who would be convinced to stop when things got too intense. “The Missing Mysteries are gone, the Buzzards know everything about Uncle Scrooge and his company, and…what next?”  They’d rallied for a bit at the Money Bin, and he’d felt better for a little bit. Eventually, though, his fears had come back to remind that his usual method of problem-solving wasn’t going to work this time.

Webby nodded.  “I know.  I’ve never seen Granny this scared.  This is big.” She pulled him into a hug, which he realized he’d sorely needed.  “But those kinds of people, they don’t watch each other’s backs.  We do.  We’ll learn their secrets.  We’ll win.”

“You really believe that?” Huey didn’t even know why he was asking; he was already sure she did.  Maybe he just needed to hear it out loud.

“I do.” Webby squeezed him tighter.  “Because our family is the best.”

Oh dear, I'm bad at picking favourites, haha XD

BUT! I really, really loved Louie's Eleven! And yes, it's because we finally got to see Daisy and her relationship with Donald, I just loved it so much!

I've been waiting for Daisy to appear since the show aired, and I definitely wasn't disappointed!

(Quack Pack was also a lotta fun. And the Boyd episode had some very good Gyro character development and gorgeous art and animation)

I am definitely looking forward to the return of some of my favs, like Goldie or Don Karnage... can't also wait for the Halloween episode that will probably provide us with some quality duck twins time!

Frank hinted at a lotta angst to come, I'm not ready for that. BUT THRILLED.

Favorite episode(s) and HDL dynamic?

OOOH THIS IS A HARD ONE...

My favorite episode really depends on what I’m feeling! If I want something light-hearted and funny, definitely “Missing Links of Moorshire”. If I want something a bit heavier with a lot of substance... “Whatever Happened to Della Duck”, “The Duck Knight Returns”, “The Shadow War”... THE LIST JUST GOES ON I LOVE SO MANY EPISODES

For now let’s just say “Raiders of the Doomsday Vault” because it has Glomgold/Scrooge moments AND it has Della’s first adventure with Dewey (also because it came out around the same time #WhyILoveDuckTales started trending)

As for favorite HDL dynamic... I love Dewey messing with Huey or being disturbed by long Huey. I also love how Louie encourages them... I can’t pick a favorite!!

2 ideas: Boyd moving in with Gyro pre-spinoff or we have his moving in with Gyro be the catalyst Gyro's arc :o

i don’t know which one i like better honestly. i always pictured Boyd moving in with Gyro, or at least Gyro splitting custody with the Drakes, immediately after Astro Boyd, but if we have the chance to really flesh out that relationship, maybe we should wait. Boyd and Gyro’s relationship after Astro Boyd is pretty tenuous and unprecedented, so it’ll take some work from both of them to figure out how their relationship will work for both of them now that twenty years have passed. either way, the arc will continue after the initial move-in - there are lots of small details that you don’t usually think about when living with someone that could cause problems and continue the arc and god now i want to write a fic sskdfllds

i propose that maybe instead of Boyd moving in as the catalyst of Gyro’s arc, maybe it’s the catalyst of Boyd’s arc. i’m not really sure how this would work since i don’t really know what Boyd’s arc would be, but i think when we as a fandom think about the relationship between Gyro and Boyd and the turmoil both of them have experienced, we usually think more about Gyro’s side than Boyd’s (which isn’t a problem, per se, since Gyro has a lot to unpack there) but there are definitely some interesting possibilities there! Gyro has a lot of issues to work through, but he’s very aware of that fact (and that’s a lot of what’s holding him back from being a doting parent at first imo). Boyd isn’t as aware of the problems he might encounter rebuilding his relationship with Gyro after twenty years - Gyro has changed a lot, but he hasn’t. I think that’s really good for Gyro, but it still might cause problems we can explore!
