Inequality in Education
This is a boy living in Bangalore. He studies in a local government school. He is very smart and even knows how a Bio-gas plant works and how to make the one installed in his school work. But in all probability he will not be able to use this intelligence to full use, because by the time he grows up, a lot of factors will push him to put it to side and keep fighting for food and a normal life devoid of pursuing his dreams. This arises because of the inequality between the kind of primary education that is provided in the government and the private schools of India. This is even worse in rural India. There is inequality in the kind of environment, teachers, resources and a lot of other things. To fix these, more money needs to be pumped into the system and be saved from corruption, increase taxes if needed but this sector needs money. Moving on, teachers in India should have a compulsory time frame of teaching in government schools within two years graduating. A policy that creates an exchange and connection between private and government school should be in place. This for example could have a private school adopting some government schools to bridge the gap and moreover both sides can learn from each other.
