Stage Diving.
Whether you love it or hate it, I’ve wanted to do it for years but being really self conscious about my weight I put it off... until last night! (14/12/17) I was at the Roam, WSTR & Stand Atlantic show in Club iFor Bach, Cardiff. before the show I handed even contemplated even doing it because well I had never done it previously, last night was a little different usually when I go to shows I'm the driver so I don’t get to drink and let lose as much as my friends. This time I was drunk (not hammered drunk, but a fun loving drunk), I had been out for a works Christmas party before heading to the show at which point I was 8 pints deep. I met my brother and some mates in the gatekeeper across the road and then met a few more friends in the queue for the show, luckily though as my brother works in the venue we had queue jump and guest list tickets! We went to upstairs where they all grabbed a drink and I thought to myself, I’ll have myself a bottle of water otherwise I’ll be way to messed up before WSTR, we all chilled at the back listened to Stand Atlantic and everything was all good. Just before WSTR come on stage I got down to the front with my brother and mates, then they started playing and everyone was going wild and there were crowd surfers, stage divers & a pits. A perfect night in my eyes!
WSTR started to play Graveyard Shift, the first song they ever released as a band. I can vaguely remember when I seen it posted on UKPP on Facebook and loved it from there, ANYWAY... towards the end of the song before they sing the Chorus one last time something clicked in my head and all I said to myself was , “if you’re going to do it do it NOW!” so I jumped up on stage and then for the first time in my life stage dived.
It was the best experience ever! Why the fuck I ever let my weight stop me I don't know because I was up there for a good 30 seconds but it felt over before I knew it. I was actually sat up on the crowd singing back to Sammy and ever so graceful was pushed back to the stage and landed on my feet. I gave Sammy a hug and then jumped back down into the crowd, I was buzzing! never had a feeling like that in my life.
