Photosynthesis is a process through which plants make their food. No one can deny from the importance of photosynthesis as it is the main and primary source of food and oxygen for animals and human beings. Without food and oxygen, we will die. The chemistry of Photosynthesis Reaction:
In Photosynthesis water and CO2 act as raw materials. Plants absorb water from the roots and xylem vessels transport it to the leaves. There are tiny holes in the lower epidermis of the leaves through which carbon dioxide gas enters into the leaves. In the leaves Chloroplast cells are present. These cells chlorophyll a green color pigment, it absorbs the sunlight and converts into chemical energy.
Chlorophyll and sunlight play a very vital role in the Photosynthesis process. Because both help in photosynthesis reaction in which water and carbon dioxide gas react together and make food and oxygen as the products of photosynthesis.
