This week in the garden
Fun little collection of these tiny pale green winged insects—northern flatid planthoppers, Flatormenis proxima—on a forsythia branch.

Both of the garden-fence-situated clusters of gladiolus #1 have begun blooming this week, one stalk from the upper cluster and, by today, four stalks of the lower cluster. (They really, really like this location! The original cluster of gladiolus #1, by the other fence, is just starting to develop stalks.)
A very tiny (baby) pickerel frog! The body is narrower than a finger, and it successfully jumped through ~¼" wire mesh into the cucumbers!
The phlox from my grandmother started blooming late this week, too—here it is basking in some late-afternoon sun.
A much larger—but still not large—frog tonight, the American green tree frog…once again not on a tree 😂
