#OnThisDay October 9, 1976 @Scorpions & @ulijonroth released their fourth studio album #VirginKiller. Probably the heaviest album of the Ulrich Jon Roth era compared to the melodic FlyToTheRainbow or the eclectic ballad filled InTrance. "Virgin Killer" (along with Taken By Force) pretty much showcases the band at it's most versatile which would be some of the formula to their more accessible albums, Lovedrive and Blackout. You have the blistering title track as well as #CatchYourTrain" and very 'eavy #CryingDays Then you got the melodic trademark Scorpions pop with #PicturedLife" & #BackstageQueen." As well the trademark ballads of InYourPark" & YellowRaven." Then topped off with Uli's Hendrix influenced tunes of PolarNights and #HellCat. This is the Scorpions at it's finest. At a time, I'd say this was the best of their discography, but it's really difficult since I've really warmed up to "Fly To The Rainbow" of late and "In Trance is great as well.
