light   muttering   under   his   breath   while   small   pupils   looked   at   the   liquid   within   his   glass.   if   his   teeth   could   appear   clenched,   they   would   be.   guess   he   was   so   focused   on   his   thoughts   that   he   didn't   hear   the   approaching   zooble.   it   wasn't   until   he   felt   fingers   grasped   his   chin   and   he   looked   up   at   them   did   he   process   everything.   looking   at   them   with   momentarily   flickering,   small   pupils.   it   takes   just   a   second   before   familiar   facade   is   back   up.   large   smile   spreading   across   his   face   and   pupils   widening   out.       ❝ Ah   if   it   isn't,   Zoobie. Couldn't   get   enough   of   my   handsome   face,   could   ya   ?    ❞

Jax pauses, tilting his head as he admires his work. Standing innocuously in the middle of the circus, bright and gaudy and like it belongs there, is a life-sized hamster cage system, complete with different 'rooms' that hold different activities, and even a life-sized hamster wheel. Little do the others know, there are also tubes that go nowhere, rooms that trap you inside, and death traps scattered throughout.

It's basically the hamster version of the Winchester Mystery House.

When he turns to face Zooble, it's with a wide, shit-eating grin on his face and his arms folded behind his head. "Why can't it be both? Or is your brain short-circuiting from all the fun you won't let yourself have imagining it?"
