Thank you all SO much for a thousand followers!!! As a thanks, I'm holding a design contest for an upcoming DaisyClan character.

Pigeontrail joins the Clan as Pigeonkit on Moon 41.

The rules for the contest are as follows:

To enter the contest, you may reblog this post with your design entry, tag me in a post of your design entry, or send your design entry in an ask.

The contest will end on the 24th of April 2026. I will choose the winner's entry soon after.

Pigeontrail should be designed as a young adult! If you'd like, you can include an apprentice/kit design/doodles too, but that is totally optional.

Pigeontrail joins DaisyClan as a newborn kit, so you should not come up with a backstory for him.

You don't have to stick exactly to the sprite design, but there should be some resemblance to it and no outlandish changes (e.g. don't change him to like a tortoiseshell or something lol)

I don't think I have to say this but just in case, do not use AI, steal or trace to create your entry to the contest.

Again, I cannot thank you all enough for your support on this comic. I have lots of fun making it, and I'm glad you have fun reading it (despite the agony I sometimes put you through, lol). Good luck with your designs! PRIZE UPDATE!!!

There have been SO many amazing entries that I am retroactively installing additonal prizes.

There will now be three winners: first place and two runner-ups. Only first place will have their Pigeontrail design chosen for the comic, but all three will get fullbody drawings of a warriors/clangen original character of theirs. All three will be announced in the winners announcement post.

Pigeontrail for @daisyclan's whole 1k follower thing! I based the design more heavily on a couple of pigeons, including making kit Pigeon a poofy mess. I attempted to recreate the artstyle as well, using the same kinds of swoops I see in Cottonwish, the cute little fur lines, and different inner lineart colors.

He gave me very silverstream vibes, so I gave him lighter colored parts to make him look different from her. Also he is very fluffy.

Here's my submission for @daisyclan's contest!! I have been very busy lately but I'm glad I've been able to free some time to submit a design. Random assortment of thoughts:

design wise, I wanted him to have a puffy chest like a pigeon!! I like to imagine he would puff his chest out when angry or trying to look menacing.

I gave him my signature heart ear tufts, cause that felt fitting.

I thought a lot about his personality when drawing him, strict can be interpreted in many ways but for me it was more in a "proud, knows better than you" way. To me he would always walk with his tail held high, confident in who he is... Even though he will probably turn out very different, that's how I envision him in my design at least :)

DAISYCLAN DESIGN CONTEST RESULTS

The results are in! I spent ages agonising over this choice because of how brilliant the entries were and how many people submitted. Thank you to everyone who tried their hand at Pigeontrail's design. I'd reccommend whoever wants to see cool art and designs to check out the #daisy design contest hashtag.

We have three winners. The two runner-ups will receive a fullbody drawing of a warriors/clangen original character of theirs. The overall winner will also receive a fullbody character drawing, as well as having their Pigeontrail design made canon in the comic! If you are one of the three winners, DM me with a reference of the character you would like a drawing of! I'll get them all done within the month.

Now for the moment we've all been waiting for...

The first runner up is...

@mav3rick-hyde with this gorgeous Pigeontrail design! I absolutely adored the shapes of this design, the contrast of the sharp edges (legs, tail spikes) and the curlyness of his mane and hair! You managed to make him look so adorable and soft-feeling while still keeping a seriousness in his expression that reflects his traits. Thank you for this lovely design, and congratulations on runner-up status.

Our next runner-up is...

@day2clan I am obsessed with this rock-dove inspired design! He is so so birdlike from the wing patterned coat to the tail shape to the mane and those huge amber eyes. The berry-staining to reflect the pigeon's iridescent colouring is such a clever detail that really adds to an already brilliant and super fun design. In your submission post you said you'd been hesitant to submit to any other design contests - well, I'm really glad you entered this one! Thank you.

And FINALLY. Our overall winner is...

@her-new-landclan I felt like I recognised the Pigeontrail I'd been looking for the instant I saw your design. His shape and size are perfect, and I especially love his tail, mane and paws! The markings are deceptively simple but lovely and unique, and I really like the colours you picked or inferred from the sprite. Maybe the thing that really solidified it for me were the creases in his face that give him this self-serious but genuinely weary look, that I will aim to replicate as his character grows! Thank you so much for submitting, and congratulations, your Pigeontrail design will feature in DaisyClan once his character arrives in Moon 41.

Like I said before, thank you to EVERYONE who submitted to the contest, it truly was so difficult to narrow it down to three. I hope to do another design contest in the future <3

my theory is that Mousescratch (or whatever the RueClan healer's name was) is Pigeontrail's mother (the cat for who you held the design contest), since his actual appearance in the comic is coming pretty soon...
