DRAWTOBER DAY 2: ZERO GRAVITY
to summarize pilotone (which is very similar to its predecessor "co-pilot"):
an interstellar pilot is responsible for maintaining her one-crew ship as it decays over the course of hundreds of thousands of years. as her work grows unmanageable she medically induces a mental break that results in a psychic "double". this double makes use of whatever neural-pathing is not currently in use by her, meaning he has a tendency to be the opposite of her, in conflict with her, but also (thankfully?) only exists in her mind.
one idea i had for communicating that he wasn't real was to make him unaffected by real world physics like gravity, or in this case zero-gravity (tho it sorta just looks like he's floating in a sitting position on the ceiling of the ship lol). either way, i had fun working in some miniature versions of ui designs we'd been developing, and was also really inspired by vewn's work while drawing this.
that's all for today, thanks for reading and see ya tomorrow! :D
