“It doesn't have a home.”
“We’re not keeping it. It’s a stray. I’m sorry it doesn't have a home.” Dean inwardly flinched at the look on Cas’s face. It was what he’d come to call Cas’s smite-y face, and having it directed at him was nothing less than terrifying. He tried for a placating tone. “Look. We can’t kee - ahCHOO! - it,” he rubbed at his eyes, “but we’ll take it to the SPCA.”
“I don’t have a home,” Cas shot back peevishly. “Are you going to take me to the SPCA?”
“You do have a home! You can stay - AHCHOO! - with us, but I am allergic to the furball!”
“I’m allergic to your attitude.” Cas cradled the pathetic black kitten closer to his chest. “I’m going to call him Samandriel,” he said softly, smiling down at the kitten.
“Just for tonight,” Cas said quietly, taking the towel wrapped bundle from the room.
Sam chuckled. “I’ll make the supply run,” he said helpfully.
“Did you teach him the sarcasm? I’m allergic to your attitude. Please.”
“Buddy, you did that yourself. Should I get litter and stuff too?”
