The dark haired mutant had been on a mission to recover an artifact that Scott thought would help them against Apocalypse. While Kit thought it was a bit of a long shot, he knew the perks of getting extra-terrestrial gear, and since he had a few connections from his time in space, he volunteered to go. To be fair, it would have probably been smarter to go with someone, Julian, Piotr, Bobby, but his pride seemed to have gotten in the way. It wasn’t in a particularly nice part of town, in fact it was probably in the sketchiest, darkest, creepiest part of town. Then again, that was the perfect place for aliens of all different origins to gather around and exchange super dangerous and illegal weapons. Luckily, the transaction had gone smooth enough, however, and after pocketing the glowing orb in his satchel on his back, he began to head through an alleyway. That was when he felt himself being followed.

He turned around to see who it was, only to feel a hard fist slam against jaw, sending him back into a brick wall. He saw stars for a split second, bit was long enough to get his bearings. When he saw the second fist barreling at him, he easily phased through it, forcing the assailant to punch the wall instead. He used the man’s shock to take the opportunity to kick him hard in the stomach, pushing him back. Seconds later a second man pulled out a gun and shot at him. Again, Kit phased through the bullet without a problem. He pushed himself off the wall with one foot, and launched himself and his fits hard on the second man’s arm, knocking the gun out of his hand. Then, he felt a third guy grab his satchel from behind, and pull him back. Fuck, how many guys were there? Where were they coming from? He tried to pull his bag free, but was caught off guard when the one of the men picked up the gun. He fired it, and as expect, Kit phased through it, forcing the bullet into the man who had his bag. When it dropped, he decided to make a run for it. As much as he wanted to fight, he knew the cargo was too fragile. He just hoped he able to make it out before things got any worse.

Cade was already tired of this damn cast and he still had another three to four weeks of it. He at least had the boot on it, so he could semi function walking around now. He had left his crutches behind, testing out his mobility. Making his way through the beautiful sun filled day, he had on a pair of black shorts and a loose hanging Versache shirt that he was eighty percent sure Casey had bought him. His mind was wandering as he walked down the beach for the first time in a week. Just happy to be out and about, what he wasn’t paying attention to though was the beach. He was staring at the ocean through his sunglasses, just taking it in, this really was a perfect day to be out. The slight ocean breeze, all of it. 

His skin was warmed under the bright sky above, he was walking minding his own business. It had been about two days since he had gotten into a drunk pointless, I guess you’d call it a fight, with Gray. He hated himself for it, not that he wanted to dwell on it. He glanced forward, seeing the Mermaid’s Walk in the distance. He was lost in thought for a moment when suddenly his world came to a hault, crashing quite literally over something, no he quickly confirmed someone. 

He came down in a tumble of a mess, hitting sand, doing his best to avoid the other as he fell on top of the man who had been either sunbathing or napping on the beach. His knees managed to not land on the other which was good, he cursed as he collected himself, dusting sand off of him, essentially on all fours now sideways over the other, “Fuck, I am sorry. I wasn’t paying any kind of attention. I...” He paused realizing he didn’t know the man under him, which was odd, cause he usually knew all incoming people to his island, “I don’t know you.” He said with a raise of his brow, scooting back off of the other, he winced a little bit as the leg caught under him.

Honestly, Kit knew he shouldn’t have been there. He wasn’t dumb. Granted, if you asked guys like Julian or Bobby, they might try to be cute and disagree, but he wasn’t. He knew this was a terrible idea. After hearing from multiple and reliable sources that Peter Quill, his intergalactic ex-boyfriend, who he may or may not have broken up with without actually a word, was back not only on the planet, but in town, Kit Pryde was more or less in a tizzy. Honestly Kit didn’t know why Peter was on earth, if it had anything to do with him, but he knew he had to see him. Okay he didn’t have to see him. In fact, he was pretty sure common sense dictated that he avoid him at all costs. As it happened though, since his name was Peter, all common sense went out the window, and the brunet mutant decided to skim right by mature, and land comfortably in crazy ex-boyfriend mode.

He drummed his finger tips idly against the very same bar multiple sources had told him that Peter had been to the last couple of nights. Trashy enough to attract the basic daddy hungry twinks, but classic enough to play his favorite 80′s rock tracks. God Peter was so predictable. As he sat at the bar, nursing a Long Island Iced Tea, Kit saw in the reflection of the mirror on the wall, that annoyingly handsome mug strut into the bar, and his heart, as much as he would loathe to admit it, fluttered. He took a sip of his drink and simply sat there, deciding to watch for a second. He wondered what ‘single Peter’ was like when he thought Kit wasn’t watching. Who he would hit on, and what he would say.

Not that he reserved some kind of judgement to the Widow—not that he’s sloppy or anything, but a part of Arthur knew that every one else had an idea of what was happening; or where Nikolai is. Maybe they trusted Arthur enough—it was a good sign, that he’d admit… but not because of the motivations behind it. But he just had to watch the other, at least—especially since there was a chance for them to indulge in the kind of environment that Amnesty Bay offered. They can do what they need to do when the sun comes up and when Vulko’s reports finally come. For the moment, Nikolai needed to rest.

“ --------- how are you feeling?” Arthur hummed as the night was finally starting to roll in. And with the fire beginning to crackle louder with how it burned on, he knew that he should at least make something for the other.
