The Pīwakawaka or NZ Fantail.

Tricky birds to photograph as the lil buggers do not sit still! Managed to catch this one in a lil late afternoon light.

Had more birds suggested and oh gosh, twist my arm, right?

Stellar Jay is one of my personal favorites (they scream so distinctively) but the other two were fun to discover.

I think my mum came into my room just to freak me out and then left.

She told me a piwakawaka (fantail) which is a NZ bird just flew into the house and landed on a few things, and in Maori culture and tradition they're said to signify death, and my grandma literally just went into the hospital today. She came in my room just to tell me that.

I wouldn't usually believe it and I don't think I fully do, but at the same time the only other time a fantail has ever flown into our house was after our family friend died, and we weren't the only ones. My uncles and aunties also had fantails fly around them after he died and on the day of his funeral me and my cousins went on a bushwalk and I think a fantail was following us. So it was a bit spooky.

But then again the only reason shes in hospital is for a scan because she hit her head and apparently its bruised and grazed but I don't think that would kill her. I mean she's collapsed multiple times and I think has had strokes and heart attacks and she's still alive so i think it'll be fine. I hope
