Treetop Unshi Oni! He's a type of demon in Japan that comes from the sea and mixes bulls and spiders. They are quite celebrated some places like Uwajima! In the end turned out kinda cute hu? Looks nothing like the "real" ones. ...but neither do the floats they make (with long necks and sword tails!) for The Uwajima Ushi-oni Festival. I'd like to see it one year, it's three days and at the end is Hashirikomi. I hear there is Bull Sumo happening at the Uwajima City Bull Ring then too.
July 22: Gaiya Carnival with dancing and music, followed by fireworks over Uwajima Bay.
July 23: Kids' Ushi-oni Parade, Uwajima Odori dance, and more fireworks.
July 24: The main "Parent" Ushi-oni Parade, followed by the "Hashirikomi" ritual in the Suka River at night, with fireworks.
