The funniest part about the lightening thief is the fact that everyone was like "I don't know who Percy’s godly parent could possibly be" like they all really gaslit themselves even after the fact that the dude

a) had a powerful enough scent that chiron took time off to pretend to be his latin teacher

b) fought a minotaur with zero training and no weapons

c) drenched clarisse and her gang in toilet water

d) beat luke in a swordfight after drenching himself in water

e) was literally only good at canoeing

f) kept saying his dad was "lost at sea"

literally 5 minutes into the camp and Percy was all like

Percy: Maybe my dad is Poseidon his cabin feels like home -

Grover: No

Annabeth: No

Chiron: No

The whole camp: No

Imagine Paul and Percy’s first meeting like you have Sally telling Paul her child is the sweetest person on earth who wouldn't hurt a soul while in the same breath she goes

Sally: Speaking of, can you convince your school to accept him?

Paul: Uh sure?

Sally: Great! You know what they say eight time's the charm

Paul: Wait -

So obviously Paul does an Internet search and he finds dozens of articles which show that percy is a terrorist who a) blew up an arch b) dumped his class in a shark tank at age 7 and c) casually kills old ladies according to some twitter user so Paul loses his mind. He doesn't know what to believe

Paul: So.. um has Percy ever visited the arch

Sally: Yeah apparently it was destroyed when he was there

So poor Paul is under the impression that Sally is unaware of her son's terrorist activities and expects to find a 6'2 hulking teen with tattoos but instead meets Percy who's 5'5 and hasn't had his growth spurt yet and loses his mind cause what if he's being blackmailed into being a terrorist??

Paul: *trying to be calm*: Hey

Percy: If my mom likes you we're good

And the fact that Percy is 100% a momma's boy and seems nice if not a bit silent? Paul is losing his mind

I think the best part about pjo is that percy thinks he's just some guy while the whole camp is going holy shit that's THE percy jackson like

Camper 1: I heard he beat Ares in a fight

Camper 2: No way

Annabeth (who happened to overhear): It happened when we were 12 btw

So ofc you have these campers who look at Percy like he's a god cause of things he did but then at the same time there's also completely ridiculous things like

Camper 1: Why is his food blue

Camper 2: I heard that it has a secret ingredient that makes him more powerful than the gods

And Percy is just always confused why younger campers take a while to warm up to him and he's just like maybe I'm too mean :(

I just like the idea of Percy saying things so matter of factly cause he thinks it was nothing special while everyone around him goes ???

Percy: I can’t believe everyone thought I was a terrorist at 12 when I just wanted to find my mom

Jason: Terrorist?!

Hazel: Wait what happened to your mom?

Percy: Oh Hades kidnapped her and the news thought I was the one who killed her

Everyone: ….

Or even him just talking about the Achilles curse like

Percy: ugh I wish I was invulnerable again so that I can do stupid skateboard tricks without dying

Jason: Invulnerable?

Frank: Again!?

Or even him just casually saying stuff like

Percy: I can’t believe Ares is still being petty that I beat him when I was like…12

Ok so I just remembered that the Lotus Casino cards were limitless and that Percy, Annabeth and Grover had AT LEAST two left. Can you imagine -

Percy: Yeah I bought Dare enterprises. Now you can turn it into an environment friendly company in revenge.

Rachel: I thought you were joking…? Where did you even get the cash -

Rachel lowkey thinks Percy committed murder so she asks Annabeth who confirms it so now Rachel just rolls with it cause she trusts their judgement to kill the billionaires

Rachel: I know you won’t tell me details but this has been keeping me up at night. How did you even get into the billionaires house -

Annabeth: We obviously took Mrs O’leary

Rachel: Obviously… Right. My bad.

Plus, at some point Annabeths like you know what I can run the world better and not make these stupid mistakes.

Percy: Can’t we just buy out all of these companies? We’ll be the CEO’s right?

Annabeth: Hold up you’re on to something.

So they just end up like taking control of half the companies and Grover’s just there like

Grover: I just want to pay other people to clean up the oceans for once.

Annabeth: Actually -

So that’s how Grover ends up paying humans to clear the beach and ends up having an early retirement. It’s even funnier if you think about how Annabeth knew how to drive a helicopter.

Annabeth: When you said you wanted to hang out this is not what I had in mind

Percy: Do you want to leave then?

Annabeth: …no

Look they’re kids with unlimited cash they’re going to get up to shit
