Perhaps an Unpopular Opinion on Aphrodite
I think Kate McKinnon is a fantastic choice for Aphrodite. Other than the fact ~I~ find her hot, one of my favorite tropes in media is when the physical manifestation of love (and sometimes lust) is depicted in more of an androgynous manner (example: Desire from the Sandman). I know some people are disappointed that she’s not more of a “conventionally” attractive woman, but I think that’s a dumb critique, because as I mentioned above she is extremely attractive to me and to other people so why is that not a valid form of an attractive woman? A slightly more valid critique is that people are worried we won’t get a shifting of her physical appearance based on the person looking at her. I too am just a tad worried about it, but I bet that’s hard to depict in a visual media. They’ll probably do some version of it but maybe not as extensive as it is in the books.

An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Summary:
A few years after the Prophecy of the Seven, Annabeth Chase isn't exactly living the ideal life. Sure, her seemingly perfect relationship with Percy is suffering many problems and Percy seems to have just given up on college and their shared dream, but every relationship has problems, right? When Percy's expulsion from NRU and their subsequent fight drives Annabeth away from NRU to Camp Half-Blood for the first Official Inter-Camp Girl’s Week for spring break, courtesy of Piper, she finds herself reacquainting with someone she thought she'd left in the past: Rachel Elizabeth Dare. Rachel, from who the Oracle's spirit has long since passed, but still remains the Camp's honorary mortal. And this time around, Annabeth realizes that maybe she doesn't hate Rachel that much... Seven nights. Seven sleepovers. And the inconvenience of falling in love.
all these people making edits with the s3 trailer are giving me flashbacks to when we just had the season 1 teaser and people were freaking out and making edits with the like 30 seconds we had
nico getting his music taste from percy bc lets be real theres nothing cooler than the music that your crush who is 2-4 years older than you listens to.
I heard "he'd burn down Olympus", but the teaser in Spanish says YOU. So, I'm confused. BUT if she's talking to Percy, then this is gonna influence Percy when he meets Nereus! In the book, he already wants to ask about Annabeth, but decides to ask about the monster because ANNABETH would never forgive him if he saved her over Olympus.
Now, if she said "he" and the dub is just a mistake, I hope it comes up if she talks to Artemis. I think the goddess will see right through Annabeth and know that she doesn't really want to join the hunters, that she will eventually regret it. Artemis has no time for that kind of drama.
PJO X DAUGHTER OF DIONYSUS READER (IV)
(Not proofread. Was an OC but I changed it. still gonna keep the last name and family lore. You’ll see-)
Looking back on it now, you were surprised your father didn't turn you into a beetle. But Dionysus did turn around and demand that yoy return to him.
"Where were you?!" You yelled, your hands crackled with purple power. You didn't even notice until moments later "Where were you when mom was having mental breakdowns?! Shouldn't you know better? You're a god!"
Dionysus was expecting this. And at this point in time, he would've turned you into some animal that would make your life even harder for disrespecting him. But then he remembered you were ultimately his daughter, you had his powers and the powers of the goddess Hecate. Something was that completely unbeknownst to you at the time.
And It didn't help you were his only daughter he's sired since at least the forties. He took a deep breath, and tried to calm himself. As he remembered how to approach a pre teen girl.
"(Your full name) , please out of all things do not disrespect me in my camp." Dionysus put his fingers up one by one like he was counting "Secondly, you're very lucky that you're not being turned into a bug that I would very much like to squash. And most of all, if you want to have a conversation about whatever it is you kids get mad about, then we can discuss it in the big house and not in front of these low life children of Hermes."
"What-" Travis tried to say.
"Okay.." you let the power fade away "As long as you don't disrespect my friends again. Or disrespect me. Then we'll be good."
Dionysus laughed and blinked dramatically "Wow. You are just like your mother."
"And is that supposed to be a bad thing?" You raised an eyebrow.
"No..why would it be?" Dionysus fell into a daydream. His anger long forgotten at the thought of the wise Allison Winslow. "You're mother was perfect. She had just freshly moved from her family home. She had the mind of a party animal, and-"
"Alright!" You said, a little bit too loudly. You looked at Connor and Travis "You guys just do whatever you have to do..I'll meet you later."
You really didn't want to leave your newfound friends, but at the same time you knew you needed to have a talk with this god that called you his daughter.
"And me, sir?" Rowan asks, his lip trembling.
"Like I said, you failed to bring me my child properly." Dionysus bloated on the fact once again. You were questioning something again as well, was Dionysus staying here the entire time? What did he mean by 'his camp'? "So just go ahead and get these twins settled in or something. I don't know, and I don't care.."
You tapped your leather booted foot impatiently. Dionysus left, and very well expected you to follow him.
The god led you through the camp as you and the Hermes brothers got separated. You wondered when you’d have to stop referring to them as the 'brothers'. You didn't even know their last name. And if they did say it, you obviously weren’t paying attention.
Meanwhile, you found yourself gawking at everything Dionysus was showing you . You passed the giant strawberry field that you had seen earlier, but as you got closer you saw many Satyrs tending to it. One looked around before slipping the strawberry into her mouth.
And also tending to the many strawberries, were teens with green and all different colors of tinted skin. They had feathery or leafy dresses, and their eyes pointed upwards like those elves you see in movies. "Oh them?" Dionysus noticed you "They're the dryads. Or nymphs. Whatever you want to call them, that's what I do. But for you, it might be different. They take offense when you call them the other name."
You thought your father was being quite unhelpful, but you took another deep breath to calm yourself.
In the distance to your left, you could see a giant stone amphitheater standing around a smaller sized campfire. Some children in bright orange shirts sat around poking sticks into the fire. All the kids you were seeing, they seemed to be about nine or ten to about nineteen. And some were talking to their satyr protectors.
You didn't have time to get a good look at the cabins that were farther in the distance than the amphitheater, because Dionysus led you past a huge volleyball court with real sand and everything and into the huge blue house on the right.
The blue house was two stories high. With wooden roofs above both levels. Two windows stood in the middle, while a third window standing at the top. You swore you saw something moving in there.
You and Dionysus climbed up the porch, before you walked inside to see a nice little living parlor with chairs, a fireplace, a long couch, and not so surprising was a wall filled with wine bottles and any kind of alcohol imagine able.
"Why is there wine out in the open?" You asked "Isn't this camp for children?"
"Okay, and?" Dionysus asked back, he turned around on his heels "They're locked away for a reason. And you don't need to worry, i cant have any. It's for decoration."
"Why can't you have any?" You questioned.
"Just like your mother, I swear—"
"Mr. D." A older voice called out. That's when your eyes widened. A full on Horse man stepped out of the back room. His torso and upper half looked just like a middle aged man, but his lower half was a white spotted Andalusian. "He's been banned from his alcoholic endeavors since he decided to chase after a wood nymph that Lord Zeus had his eyes on."
"Gross." You muttered.
"And in the mean time, welcome to camp half blood" Chiron said, a little too enthusiastic for your taste. He had something in his hands to give to you. "Here is a camp shirt and some shorts we thought would fit you.
"Thank you. Uh, Chiron?" You said uncertainly.
"Yes, you know your mythology very well." Chiron smiled. "Now we have someone who will escort you to your cabin. Annabeth!"
A girl about your age stepped in. She had medium blonde wavy hair. He skin was tan, like a surfer girl. Except her grey eyes ruined that scenario.
"Annabeth, this is (your name). You will be escorting her to her cabin." Chiron told her.
"Of course, sir. But which cabin?" Annabeth asked.
"Um, oh yes." Dionysus sighed before snapping his fingers. A purple light appeared above your head.
You looked up to see a hologram looking thing of a wine glass with grapes sticking out of the top. "There we go." Dionysus said "You know what that means, Annie Bell."
Annabeth looked annoyed but put a loose smile on her face. "Come on."
You really didn't want to go with her, but you did anyway. You two exited through the back door, and found yourselves going up towards the cabins.
"There are twelve cabins." Annabeth sighed "Odd numbers on the left. Even on the right. But not many campers are here now because it's fall. Campers usually stay during the summer."
You barely had time to look at all of them. One had a plain blue wall around its edges, with a trident design on its glass doors. Some seashells stuck to the outside. Another appeared to be bright gold, it was so bright it almost blinded your eyes.
"Here's yours.." Annabeth says, pointing to one of the cabins at the very end. It looked like a regular summer camp cabin. Except it had grape vines all around the roof and the porch.
"It looks okay." You said, unsure of what to expect when you would walk in.
"I can't go with you, but if you do ever invest anyone all you have to do is control the vines. Your brothers have said that they get under people's feet and throw them if they're not a child of Dionysus." Annabeth explained.
You weren’t really listening to the last part. "I have brothers?"
"They're twins. Castor and Pollux. They should be inside, they're year rounders too." Annabeth added "Have fun." She walked away.
You watched her leave, before you stepped onto the porch and opened the door. Inside looked far from what she'd been expecting. All over the floor were mounds of clothes, candy wrappers, and all sorts of stuff you found disgusting.
"Oh, hi!" A voice called out. She turned to see a head poking out from behind a mound of clothes which seemed to be covering one of the bunk beds. "Hold on, one sec.."
Two boys stepped out from behind the clothes. They looked just like you in a way. They had dark black hair, violet eyes, and a stocky build. The one on the right shook out his hand "I'm Pollux, and here's Castor. Welcome to cabin twelve, little sister!"
