Evaluation of my book:

When I heard my subject, it came to VR immediately. At the same time, I expanded the possibilities of the word "vision". However, I realized that visual information is the most effective for clarifying the connection between technology and vision. As a result of investigating the eye diseases, I learned that human eyes are affecting not only the sight but also the brain. I also understood how the brain stimulates vision. However, I thought that it was not good for formal images or texts to appeal to people that eye diseases were very familiar. Designing the book while thinking about them was very difficult. I thought that I needed more exercises to see the design from various angles. To make use of it for the next project, it is necessary to write out all the images in the head to the sketchbook and to contemplate the layout using them. 

Additional comments: (related to some questions)

- I have never thought there is colour which is good for text with white color/dark colour. I ’ve changed many times what colour is the best for texting in my book. It is so helpfulfor me to consider the colour. 

- I was inspired by simple illustration as I mentioned before in the blog. I think the best way to express medical information is just SIMPLE. A complicated context always an audience’s exhausting. 

- My cutting skill was so terrible, so I decided to practice it. I'm also not good at using technology. I learned how to use InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe illustrator in Scott's session, but I think I don't understand everything. I might practice it in AUB in this week because we have a lot of time.

-I'm really happy to know many way of thinking from Sara's session. It was quiet difficult for me as it uses methodology and so on. First, I thought ‘I just make a book,’ but actually, I had to consider about audiences. That was the most difficult thing as I have never thought in my life.

- I want to research and analyze more and more to develop my book which I will make in the future.

- Laura’s session was useful to think the balance of images and text, and how can I make comfortable layout for readers.

- Before the project, I really hated to use any technology for making a book by myself, but now, I knew that making a book is so fun, and a good practice for me to consider about others.

Here is my book's mock-up. I'm going to change the size of font, backgrounds' colour, and some mistakes of contents.

After tutorial, I reconsidered how can I change them to be better.

1. The size of font

2. To re-size image/the book

3. The balance of the front page & back page

4. The colour

Actually, I was thinking that the front and back cover are not suitable for audience. Next, I'm going to remake some part of them.

Last week, I learned how to use InDesign. It was the first time for me, so I knew some rules of a column. I’m planning to use 3 column in my book. This session was very worthful for me because I got some ideas from it.

Yesterday, I posted a part of my design. but I'm still thinking where is the space to put text on. I'll research more about them, next on Monday.

Here are my book’s rough images of the front cover and introduction. Now, I’m thinking how can I insert text, and how long does it have. I decided to use warm colours in the book. The concept of the front cover is astigmatism, and a Glasses’ colour is for colour blindness patients.

Actually, this is not my final text, but it's kind of. I'm planning to add and change some of the words. However, I'm thinking now, what contents should I add and change. The words which is each content has is too short. This is reason why I don't want to make difficul to audience.

Now, I got some treatments and symptoms of eye disease(The image is my summary). Then, I'll think about texts what I write in my book.

The Place of Words(Research)

When I searched blindness, I found a very interesting instrument on the internet. It's called 'Artificial Retina' or ' Retinal Implant,' which is produced by Argus. Patients can regain their eyesight. Its sense of color is weak, but patients can see landscapes with black & white. I learned retina is the most important part to see something. Additionally, I also found other diseases of the eye such as visual field defect. I'm planning how to treat them next.
