As many of you know when I talk about plagiarism, I classify it as one of two things:
1. Copy and Pasting word for word what I’ve written
2. Very Blatant Paraphrasing
I include this form of paraphrasing because it isn’t your work, it isn’t your words, you’ve taken what I said and put a small twist on it, but it’s largely MY words.
This user initially began this story originally, their OC was a hidden Time Lady who was human or something, but towards the end of it when they became alien again, they began to paraphrase parts of Evy and Proffy’s story.
While in a case like this, where so much of it appears original, I would have contacted the author to ask them to rewrite this last chapter that borrows so heavily from Proffy and some from Evy, especially in the ORIGINAL CONTENT of the Doctor’s confrontation with Rose. However, they went on in their second and third story to paraphrase Evy and then Mac, and, from looking at an entirely different series, also paraphrased Proffy, Mac, and Angel there too, so this is not a one-time event.
Honestly, there might even be parts in earlier chapters taken and paraphrased, but I’m really just sick to my stomach now that I’ve gone through five of their stories and I just don’t want to keep finding more :’(
As you can see above, I focused on an original segment I added into MY story because other areas are based on the show and similarities would happen. But it has now been lifted by someone who tweaked the phrasing and is passing it off as their own, but clearly it is content that came from MY stories with no credit or mention of where that content came from :(
And, even more evidence that they took my work is that there is a large chunk from the middle edited out. They knowingly went through my work, took out a part, and kept the rest, so they were aware they were doing this.
While Evy’s par may seem small and unimportant, the fact that I noticed it and recognized it as coming from Evy (Davros identifying her as a Link, the Doctor’s reaction, her urging him to go to Rose) made me feel I should include it.
I would like to ask your help reporting this plagiarism on FF.net and Wattpad where the story is posted (links below).
I don’t do this lightly as they do have original content as well, but if even part of a story came from someone else, then it is not completely original and some parts were stolen. These plagiarized parts could have easily been avoided if they’d written it themselves because what they stole was original content from my work and not found in transcripts.
And so, above each image contains an example of plagiarism against my Doctor Who Stories ‘Relapse’ and ‘Alone No Longer.’ The top portion is from Chell-P’s ‘Healing Touch (Book 1 Healing Series)’ story on fanfiction.net and wattpad while the bottom portion is my own work, all screencapped from the websites. I don’t even know how many times my DW stories have been plagiarized by now, but this is the 26th time I have been plagiarized overall :(
I ask that you please help me report this plagiarism, I would very much appreciate it :( I’ve been told wattpad may require reporting as inappropriate content (content that should be removed) in order to file a report.
I apologize if the images are small or end up too big or warped, I will be working on making them completely viewable with my page’s theme. This is not a post to bash the author or an invitation to comment harshly on the event. This is merely a means to document when instances of plagiarism have struck and ask for assistance with reporting such incidents.
I guess I was right to be worried about other plagiarisms I might have missed in the last 4 years since this was posted 2016 and began to paraphrase, from what I saw, near the end of 2018 :(
