Bravo & Echo (Character reference sheet)
Now it's finally time for our most beloved characters in the Disney Planes fandom; Bravo & Echo!
Compared to the first Planes film, they have a slightly different life in my AU. They're identical twin brothers, and I gave them real names which are separate to their current callsigns. I gave them real names like 10 years ago around the same time Micheal and Toni were first created.

Steve and Daniel are the twin sons of FA-18E parents, Stella and Logan, who are both avid fliers of the Jolly Wrenches. Their parents met on a deployment around the British Isles, right after they finished recruitment training.
The twins were born into a Navy family, spanning back multiple generations on both maternal and paternal sides. Their parents and other immediate family are mostly FA-18 E variants; their parents, most of their grandparents, and their uncles and great grandparents on their father's side, who were also members of the Wrenches.
Steve and Daniel also carry a twin gene,e which is only likely to affect males. It originated from their father's bloodline, which resulted in their uncles being twins, and even their great-grandfathers also being twins.
Steve and his brother had a bit of a rocky start to life. Being twins, they were born 6 weeks premature. They required extra care by medics after their birth and were placed in incubation tanks, and needed extra oxygen and a feeding tube for the first few weeks of their life.
Since birth, the boys were completely identical, which was a living hell for their parents; they constantly needed to use a coloured dye or a label on their sons, just to be able to tell who was who.
The twins bonded from birth, and they grew up together as the best of friends. They spent every waking hour together from the moment they could open their eyes, to when they joined Primary school together. Being identical twins, they both shared an unbreakable bond with each other that lasts a lifetime. For Steve, Daniel felt like his other half. He needs Daniel as much as Daniel needs him.
Steve and Daniel also shared a very strong, loving bond with their parents. When they were 3, their father, Logan, was deployed to the Iraq War. The boys were saddened to not have their dad around for their 3rd birthday, but he had left them plenty of presents already wrapped in time for their birthday, in hopes of cheering them up a bit.
The absence of their father caused the boys a lot of difficulty. They'd often cry and pine for their other parent. Getting them to sleep in the evenings was even more difficult. Logan would ring home almost every day or videocall over Skype whenever he could, but direct contact was very limited on the ship, and only so much time would be allowed. He would also send voice recordings, which soothed the children in times of distress. Sometimes, he'd even send a tiny blanket in the post that he'd kept for a week. It had his scent all over it,t which was a godsend when Stella needed to get the children to finally relax for sleep.
Unbeknownst to them, during the conflict, their father had gotten injured and gone MIA for several days before being rescued. Although the boys had no idea what was happening, they seemed to pick up on their mother's distress. It made Steve quieter, whereas his more sensitive brother reacted more to behavioural changes like this.
After Logan returned home with the rest of the carrier, the boys got to see him a lot more often for the next few years. They noticed their father's new injuries and became curious. Logan made up a cool, heroic story about him fighting off countless enemy planes, which earned him his battle scars. The boys were so impressed that they told all their friends for weeks on end. They were protected from the real story until they were old enough to understand.
As the boys grew older, they started to discover their own unique personalities. Daniel was cheeky and a little bundle of energy. He also inherited his father's dimples. Steve was very similar but had a slightly milder temperament. His dimples didn't show quite as much as his brother's.
As kids, they were relatively active and adventurous. They were always playing out in the quiet streets where they lived, along with the other neighbourhood kids, for the majority of the day. They'd be out practically until sunset; Steve was the one who was always prompt and always wanted to come home on time, his brother was the one who wanted to push the boundaries just a little bit.
In Primary school and high school, they always hung out with the same group of friends. If you found one twin, the other was usually close by. They defended and stuck up for each other, hung out together during recess breaks, attended the same classes, their grades were almost the same for everything, and they were both very competitive. They also played sports very regularly and always wanted to be on the same team together, despite their competitive drives. They soon found out that they worked better together rather than apart.
Daniel was the most comedic and distractible, whereas Steve was quieter, settled and eager to learn.
The 10 years between 2006 and 16 went by in a blur. Their father was away for 6 months, followed by 1 year of base duties, meaning they got to see him every day after school. Both parents would do their duties at their nearest air base on a typical 9-to-5 commute. After school, Steve and Daniel were picked up by their grandparents on their mum's or dad's side and driven home, where they'd be looked after for a few hours until either parent came home. The years went by in a blur of school, late nights doing homework in the kitchen, roughhousing with their father, parents' evenings, food, etc. Steve and Daniel were growing fast like weeds and were starting to become teenage boys - who were still trying to figure themselves out and regulate their own emotions. As they were getting older, they were beginning to change and alter. Steve's eyes lightened to an icy colour just like Logan's. He inherited Stella's calm and reservedness, but also gained Logan's intelligence and logical thinking. He tended to play by the rules and do things by the book, just like him. He tended to look up to his father. Daniel seemed to relate to their mother a bit more. He developed his comedic and charismatic side from Logan, but he inherited his mother's darker blue eyes and her gentleness.
Their tastes had also changed. Both boys grew to be quite picky with food sometimes. Stella often proclaimed that they inherited that trait from their father. Their metabolism doubled as they got into their teens, and they had huge appetites. Even to this day, Daniel has a bigger appetite than his brother. He's also a huge chocoholic, which was one of the big cravings Stella had whilst she was expecting them.
They also learned how much they could relate to their twin uncles. They were also Jolly Wrenches; James had the callsign of 'Double', and Andrew was named 'Trouble'. Steve learned that he was more like James. He was the calm, more sensible and responsible twin. Daniel found that he related more to Andrew; he was the funny, cheeky, mischievous brother. Steve and Daniel also dreamed of being Jolly Wrenches just like their mum, dad, twin uncles, grandfather and twin great grandfathers on their dad's side.
Off deployments, the older twins got to spend time with their much younger twin nephews. It helped Steve and Daniel to find family members they could relate to. Admittedly, they were closer to Logan's side of the family than their mother's. Stella and her sister did get along a little better than in the past, but she was never 100% with her younger sister, and that made her more distant from her family. Steve and Daniel did meet Stella's mum and dad through babysitting and being taken care of after school, but they didn't know their aunt well. They only learned the real reason when they were much older.
In May 2016, they graduated from high school with the same academic grades - all satisfactory. Their parents were so proud of them. The boys enjoyed their summer break, where they hung out with their dad almost all the time. He helped to build their strength up with various sports, one of them being volleyball. He also started giving them advice and practice on how to fly. Steve and Daniel were 16 and almost ready to start flying, but not just yet. They had almost free range of all their control surfaces and were capable of firing up their engines. They did taxi runs and practised zooming up and down the neighbourhood runway, but they weren't quite ready to get airborne just yet.
In September of that year, the twins joined the Navy training and flight school. They were both eager to follow in the same tracks as their parents and hoped that they could qualify to join the Jolly Wrenches squadron. As soon as they could get airborne, Steve and Daniel left home and moved to their nearest air base for Navy training and flight school. It was the same base that their parents had been working at over the years.
Recruitment training was gruelling and hard. There was so much information that they had to cram into their brains whilst they were still developing. The twins had to learn and complete all the theoretical courses, which was mentally exhausting and draining. The practical tasks were no easier. They even had to pass various health and fitness checks. Logan and Stella were always around. Stella was completing her own courses and physical training to finally prepare for carrier ops. Logan had opted to stay on the base instead of being deployed. He got the amazing opportunity to coach and train his own sons, which they were equally grateful for.
During the 3 years of Navy training, Steve seemed to take most things in his stride. Whatever he faced, he seemed to overcome it well. On the outside, he also seemed to make it look easy. Deep down, he was nervous and desperately wanted to pass. Daniel seemed to struggle a lot more than his brother. He tried to follow in his twin's steps, but he lacked the same level of confidence. This often caused the twins to bicker over each other's skill set; one was able to cope with the pressure, whereas the other was struggling and feeling frustrated.
Also during the training, the twins were gifted their callsigns. Steve was given the callsign "Bravo" - highlighting his cleverness, intelligence, skill, confidence and high success rate during tasks and sorties. He was slowly developing into a copy of his father. The nickname also referred to his good nature, quietness, calmness and well-behaved attitude.
At the end of the 3 years of intense training, both Steve and his twin were successful, and both received passes. They managed to qualify for the Jolly Wrenches. Soon, they were both able to join their mum and dad on their first ever deployment to patrol the British Isles. This was one of the few times when the family of 4 was all together. This was also the boys' first time they got to work alongside their parents and putting all their training to the test. Andrew and James were also onboard which meant that they had family members looking out for them whilst they tried to settle in and find their place within the friendly, close-knit squadron.
Steve managed to share a dorm with his sibling, just like they did on the base. Steve began to settle in fine and couldn't wait to see what was next. He confidently took things in his stride and seemed to take on sorties with ease. Despite never being on a boat before, he seemed to cope with the change quite well and proved to be very adaptable. His brother wasn't settling quite so well. He was seasick for the first couple of weeks and took a lot longer to adjust to such a dramatically different environment. Steve tried to help and support his brother as they started their training and sorties on the carrier, and they both gradually settled and got used to the chaotic life on board an aircraft carrier.
Almost a year later, at 20 years old, Steve met his first and only love, Emily. They met on the flight deck of the Flysenhower, just as colleagues. Completely unbeknownst to him, Emily began to form a little crush on him. During training missions and sorties, she would start trying to compete with him. At first, Steve would brush her off, but then he reciprocated as soon as he realised the sassy FA-18 could keep up with him.
Emily continued with her little mind games on her suitor, trying to impress him whilst masking it as friendly rivalry. Steve mirrored her, and the two of them were constantly engaging in friendly competition and banter, which gradually turned into the occasional flirting without them even realising it. Admittedly, he was attracted to her boldness, fire, sass and ambition.
His twin and their closest friends could already decipher the true nature behind Emily's and Steve's competitiveness and encouraged them both to confess their true feelings. They'd both brush it off and deny it at first, knowing full well how they really felt about the other.
Their masked rivalry came to a head one evening when the squadron visited a naval air base for a party. Steve was parked up at a table with his brother and a few friends. He had just witnessed Daniel approaching a table of female Superhornets and attempting to attract one of them. Feeling a hint of jealousy that his twin was getting all the female attention, he decided to join them. Emily was also parked at this table.
Initially, the pair were up to their usual tactics of sarky remarks and flirtatious banter; Emily, mostly teasing just to get a rise out of him. Steve mirrored her. This continued until they both realised that they were blatantly flirting with each other. They knew there was no coming back from it.
Later, Steve left to go to the bar. Another male Superhornet seized the opportunity to talk to her with the intention of winning her over. Emily wasn't interested nor impressed by it. The only male she had her eye on was, of course, Steve. Daniel was scowling and glaring at the other hornet, trying to ward him off. Steve soon returned to their table and warned the other male off with a growl. This both surprised and attracted her to him even more. In that moment, Steve had to admit that he did, in fact, like her back. It turns out he couldn't bear the thought of her being with someone else.
After the party, the two exchanged numbers, thus marking the start of their official dating.
Nothing changed much between the pair. The friendly rivalry and teasing continued throughout their dating until one night Steve confronted her about her "desire to be hot yet insanely annoying" in his words, before it ended up in the pair spending an intimate, passionate night together. Although their relationship burned slowly, it was still deeply intense. They'd often spend the day in each other's company and often found themselves sneaking into each other's rooms during the night...
Their relationship continued to thrive. They continued to take each other out on dates, standing together on the flight deck, parking up together in the canteen, hanging out in each other's rooms, and more. Emily often liked to watch Steve play sports with his brother and the other males.
The teasing and competing subsided once Daisy and Steve switched rooms so that both couples could move in together. The pair grew to be comfortable and settled with each other. Emily even got to meet Steve's and Daniel's parents, Stella and Logan. Emily was smitten with them. Stella and Logan were so happy to finally meet her properly after they gave her and their son some space for their relationship to thrive, and once they got to know her, they already treated her and Daisy as if they were their own daughters.
Steve also began to form a lifelong bond with Daisy - Emily's cousin. Since he was dating her cousin, and Daisy was dating his twin, it brought them closer as a group of 4.
Steve often found similar aspects of himself in Daisy. They were both laid back and reserved compared to their significant others. Soon, Steve started to behave like an older brother around her; always protectively looking out for her and treating her like a younger sister.
After a deployment ended, Emily brought Steve home to meet her parents. She felt nervous, her partner even more so, since both parents were members of the air force, and her dad was often seen as strict and overprotective, but both parents were happy and approving of their daughter's relationship.
Steve, Emily, along with her cousin and his twin, often work perfectly as a little unit of 4, both on and off the ship. They spend a lot of their free time together, including being on deck, training, meeting up to eat, etc., and they pretty much spend all of their deployments like this.
In future, Steve and Daniel gradually become two of the Jolly Wrenches' top soldiers, inheriting most of their father's traits as another top fighter of the Wrenches, like efficiency, precision, and pure, raw aerial skill. The pair have also won a few sports rewards and certificates that their father, grandfather and twin great grandfathers also achieved in their primes.
Also in the future, Steve and Emily start a mortgage together on their first home in Piston Peak National Park. The two of them marry and eventually have children of their own. Whilst it's not yet clear how many they have, the twin gene inside Steve's DNA means there's always a high chance of twins. In addition, because Steve is a twin, his and Emily’s future children will be genetically half-siblings to Daniel’s and Daisy’s future children.

During exercises like bomb runs and dives, where failure was not an option, Daniel would be full of anxiety and nervousness and needed extra guidance and encouragement from their parents. This often caused the twins to bicker over each other's skill set; one was able to cope with the pressure, whereas the other was struggling and feeling frustrated. Daniel gradually learned that he was just as capable as his more confident brother and that he could pass things just like him. In time, his confidence slowly started to grow.
Also during the training, the twins were gifted their callsigns. Daniel was gifted the callsign of "Echo" - purely for the fact that he would shadow, copy or mirror his twin. Sometimes, he and Steve would look like literal copies of the same jet, which confused other colleagues and the forklift staff more so.
At the end of the 3 years of intense training, both Steve and Daniel were successful, and both received passes.
Steve and Daniel managed to share a dorm just like they did on the base. Unfortunately, things weren't plain sailing here. Steve, yet again, was way more confident. He took things in his stride and seemed to take on sorties with ease. Despite never being on a boat before, he seemed to cope with the change quite well and proved to be very adaptable. Unfortunately, the same couldn't be said for Daniel. Being the more sensitive one out of the two, he was very unsettled by the dramatic change of scenery. The gradual rocking motion of the ship made him seasick, and he required anti-nausea tablets for a few weeks until he could adapt to it. Training, sorties and lessons made him nervous and unsure of himself, and deckhands needed to give him a little extra reassurance and encouragement to get him out of his shell. Steve and their parents tried to help and support him where they could. In the end, it took around a month for Daniel to finally settle into a routine. He gradually began to thrive and forge friendships within the squadron, just like his brother. Daniel learned that he was just as capable and skilled as his twin once he overcame his fears and anxiety. He began to thrive within the squadron and gradually became a bit of a comedian, always doing what he could to make others laugh and smile. His goofiness and charm began to shine through.
A year later, at 20 years old, Daniel met his first and only love, Daisy. Daniel was attending a party at a naval base in England. Parked with his twin and a few other males, he surveyed the bustling room around him. He happened to catch sight ofDaisy amongst a table of other females, and it was immediately love at first sight.
Daniel was a ball of energy and could light up any room he was in; a stark contrast to his brother's calm, laid-back nature. Daniel was also a bit of a womaniser. He hadn't started dating yet, but he had the confidence to charm and flirt with the females Superhornets in the squadron, and he became very well-liked and attractive to them. It did have the consequence of his mother giving him a glare or two if she ever caught him.
Daniel boldly approached their table and immediately began to woo Daisy with his charm and charisma. She had no interest in males prior to this, but Daniel was attractive and irresistible to most of the ladies. His advances seemed to do the trick.
Joining a quiet table, just the two of them, he began to learn more about her. Daisy was shy - a complete contrast to his own personality, but they seemed to attract each other. Deep down, they both had similar personalities. They were both sweet, kind and sensitive. Their connection was strong, and their chemistry was well matched.
As they both began to date, they both started to discover and learn moreaboutf themselves. Daniel was energetic, always happy and charismatic, but being with Daisy calmed him down and made him settle, without extinguishing his excitable, bouncy energy. Daisy felt her confidence growing further whenever she was with him. She found that Daniel was always trying to charm her. He kept making her laugh and blush profusely at least once a day. He could somehow draw this shy Hornet out of her shell and helped her become more confident and bold. Their relationship and chemistry grew swiftly and intensely. The pair started to display forms of affection, and before long, they became intimate with each other. They met up during the day to train or eat together and be in each other's company, and sometimes snuck into each other's rooms in the middle of the night.
As their relationship developed, Daisy switched places with Steve so that both couples could share rooms. Daniel complimented her introvertedness well. He was more than happy to spend their free time cuddling up with her in bed to rest or watch a film together. But having Daniel as her partner made Daisy even more excited to go up on deck for duty. She and her cousin, Emily, also got to meet the twins' parents, Stella and Logan, who were also on the same deployments. They were so happy to finally meet Daisy properly after they gave her and their son some space for their relationship to grow and thrive, and once they got to know her, they already treated her and Emily as if they were their own daughters.
Daniel also began to form a lifelong bond with Emily. Being Steve's twin, he was always around and would often meet up with Daisy in tow, making them a close-knit group of 4. Daniel often found parts of himself in Emily: they were both cheeky, mischievous, they had an excitable energy about them, and were always teasing their closest loved one. Both of them always got along. Emily started shifting her teasing and rivalry onto Daniel, and before long, the pair would bicker and argue like true siblings. They would affectionately bully each other but still have each other's backs like family. Daniel, he got a future sister-in-law. And for Emily, she got herself an older future brother, which was what she always wanted.
Daisy and Daniel, along with her cousin and his twin, often work perfectly as a little unit of 4, both on and off the ship. They spend a lot of their free time together,r including being on deck, training, meeting up to eat, etc, and they pretty much spend all of their deployments like this.
After a deployment ended, Daisy brought Daniel home to meet her parents. They were overjoyed to finally meet him after everything she told them whilst on deployment. They were incredibly welcoming and supportive of their relationship, and were just as happy to meet Daniel’s twin, Steve, who was also dating their niece, Emily.
In future, Daniel and his sibling gradually become two of the Jolly Wrenches' top soldiers, inheriting most of their father's traits as another top fighter of the Wrenches, like efficiency, precision, and pure, raw aerial skill. The pair have also won a few sports rewards and certificates that their father, grandfather and twin great grandfathers also achieved in their primes.
Also in future, Daisy and Daniel start a mortgage on their first home in Piston Peak National Park. The two of them marry and eventually have children of their own. Whilst it's not yet clear how many they have, the twin gene inside Daniel's DNA means there's always a high chance of twins. In addition, because Daniel is a twin, his and Daisy’s future children will be genetically half-siblings to Steve’s and Emily’s future children.
