Planetary gearbox consists of several components such as sun gear, ring gear, planet gear and output shaft arranged in a specific way to achieve various gear ratios and torque outputs. When the sun gear rotates (input), it drives the planet gears through meshing. The planet gears, in turn, rotate around the sun gear due to the motion of the carrier. As the planet gears rotate, they also engage with the stationary ring gear. This interaction causes the planet gears to revolve around the sun gear while simultaneously rotating on their own axes. This combined motion is why it's called a "planetary" gearbox. The output is taken from the carrier that holds the planet gears. Depending on how the gearbox is designed, the output can be taken from the carrier's rotation or from the rotation of the ring gear. The speed and direction of the output depend on the relative sizes and arrangements of the gears.
